25.01.2022 A 21st Birthday cake I made for one of my regular customers last weekend. The cake was a 10 inch square white choc-raspberry mud cake with white chocolate ganache filling. The brief was maroon fondant, ‘21’ to be made out of frangipanis and the gold border around the base was to symbolise family.

13.01.2022 A first birthday cake I sent off today. The cake was egg-free white chocolate mud cake with vanilla buttercream. I always find this style of cake a little stressful because once you start piping the rosettes, there’s no room for error. If you make a mistake, you have to start over!

11.01.2022 Happy New Year to all my customers and followers. I’ve had a lovely little Xmas/New Years break, but now it’s back to work for me. Here’s my first cake for 2019, for a first birthday party today. So many hours go into making figurines like these, make body then dry, make head then dry, attach head and dry, attach hair etc. it’s good to finally see the end result!

02.01.2022 It is with a little sadness I let you all know that Jewels Cake Dream will be closing. I still have a couple more orders to fill, but I will not be taking any new orders from now on. I’d just like to take this opportunity to say thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, to all my family, friends, customers and supporters. Without you, I could not have made this business venture work. I have thoroughly enjoyed making all your beautiful cakes and I’m proud of what I h...ave achieved with my little business. I started making cakes as a hobby while on maternity leave with my first child and she is now almost 9! It was a dream of mine to start my own business so that I could work from home and be there for my children in their early years. It was a massive challenge to set up my business but I’m happy to say, I achieved that dream, if only for a time. As one chapter ends, another begins and I’m very excited about what the future has in store. Julie

01.01.2022 Feeling a little tired and weary. It’s been a busy week of cakes as well as a bunch of school/kindy/dancing celebrations. Here’s another cake I sent off today! Rainbows and hundreds and thousands, a popular choice lately!
