17.01.2022 I started as a support worker in aged care services when my kids were little. Through the years I’ve worked as a manager and then I was asked to run the social groups for our Russian clients. Six years ago, we restructured and I moved into a case manager position and I also continued to run the Russian social group in Waterloo once a week. . We often also support clients and their families on their journey from home to residential care. Having been with JewishCare for 16 years I’ve really seen the circle of life and the amazing place that this organisation holds in the community. Yuliya Reznikov is a case worker in our Aged Care Services Team.

14.01.2022 10 October is World Mental Health Day. This year’s campaign aimed to challenge negative perceptions around mental illness and to encourage people to take a more positive view of mental illness. Although our Mental Health team has grown significantly in recent years, we currently need more casual workers to make an even bigger difference in our community. 11.01.2022 - . Being on the frontline of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) issues in our community, the JewishCare Family Support Team is committed to helping victims and educating others about how to help reduce and manage DFV an issue that does impact many in our community here in Sydney. This is the impetus behind the that will be launched next year. By mobilising and educating our community about domestic violence issues we not only hope to reduce the abuse but also the stigma associated with it.

10.01.2022 We received some wonderful feedback from Sophia's mom. Thank you - our staff always love to feel valued and appreciated. We are dedicated to continue to provide innovative, educational and engaging programs for our clients.

09.01.2022 We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new CEO. Following a comprehensive recruitment process by the Board, Gary Groves will take over from Claire Vernon who announced her decision to vacate the position after 14 highly successful years in the role. He joins us in February. https://jewishcare.com.au//gary-groves-announced-as-new-c/

06.01.2022 Both the Youth Mental Health First Aid and the Suicide Prevention Training were fantastic and for me it was amazing to have this time with the whole Wellbeing Team so we all speak a common language. I am so happy to represent Moriah and to attend meetings and disseminate information. We are building a fabulous and engaged psychology team in the high school and we are so aware of the importance of mental health and suicide awareness for our school and community. Dee Fittinghoff, High School Psychologist, Moriah College.

04.01.2022 I have been a coordinator at JewishCare for four and a half years. Prior to that I worked in Home Support. The most rewarding part of my job is making a difference in someone’s life - ensuring a client has access to appropriate accommodation when his/her circumstances changed; finding appropriate day programs for clients that will offer them structure and purpose in their life, or seeking Allied Health professionals within the clients NDIS plan. I am so grateful for the com...munity funding at JewishCare, as this allows us to offer casework for clients not NDIS funded, as well as continued support for those who are funded but have exceeded their funded hours for Support Coordination. Without the additional community funding, many families would not have access to the extra support they need. Our disability team is multi-cultural and all I get is love and respect. Not a single day goes by where I find myself not wanting to come to work. JewishCare is my second home. Anu Khadka is an NDIS Coordinator in our Disability Services Team.
