22.01.2022 Last month JewishCare WA, with support from LotteryWest, opened a Mens Shed in Yokine for the Jewish and general community. The Shed operates twice a week on Monday and Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings. Know someone who may be interested???... Our Mens Shed is for woodworkers and handymen of every level from budding beginners to seasoned craftsmen looking to hone their skills.

22.01.2022 Computer class success!! JewishCares six-week introductory computer course for seniors has just finished and our four ladies gave it the thumbs up! The course included learning the basics in Facebook, how to message and do Google search and downloading digital photos. ... This knowledge has given participants the confidence to start experimenting and learning more. Many government forms are now only available online, which means that some computer skills are essential. JewishCare WA will be holding other technology courses including how to use a mobile phone, scams to watch out for and another computer introductory course in the near future Dont be left behind, contact us now and register your interest.

19.01.2022 1 - 7 August 2016 Did you know JewishCare WA has helped many families who are either homeless or at risk of being homeless? Rae Lenny Shalom House is a three-bedroom fully furnished home in Yokine specifically available for short term emergency accommodation. ... If you know of anyone in this situation, please ask them to contact Iris Bennett, JewishCares Social Worker on 9275 6743 any Monday to Wednesday. Iris is also available for consultation by anyone requiring professional help or advice. This service is free and confidential. The accommodation is not available for holiday use; it can only be used under strict guidelines.

05.01.2022 We are now there! After five years of planning and hard work, JewishCare WA's Mens Shed is open for business!! We are proud to announce that commencing 6 February, the JewishCare WA's Men's Shed will be open on Monday and Thursday afternoons and Sunday mornings. This could not have happened without the help of a group of dedicated committee members along with Dr Michael Preece, CEO of the Maurice Zeffertt Aged Home. ... The old Carmel School kindergarten that was vacant and derelict for many years is fully renovated. The kindy has been divided in half and is now fully operational as a Mens Shed and Day Lounge (provides needed free time to home carers of the infirm). About two thirds of the extensive renovations costs were paid from a LotteryWest grant, the balance paid roughly in equal parts by MZH and JewishCare. LotteryWest and JewishCare both contributed to the purchase of the Sheds equipment. Please call the office on 9275 6743 for more information.
