03.01.2022 Here's a laptop that came to me in pretty bad shape. It's a Toshiba Satellite L300, an almost 8 year old & as you can see by the trackpad well used laptop. It was running hot, the 0, Z and ? keys weren't working, battery wouldn't hold charge and it took well over a minute to boot to Windows (2 minutes before it was usable). Firstly I replaced the keyboard and gave it a much needed cleanout. If your laptop is running hot it's likely full of dust, shortening its lifespan. Afte...r I'd fixed the important stuff I upgraded the Hard Drive to a Solid State Drive & installed Windows 10 on it. I then updated all the drivers, Windows itself & installed all the programs the customer had wanted back on it. Finally I replaced the battery. What we are left with is a 7 year old laptop that is perfectly fine hardware wise, it now boots and is usable in 15 seconds! It also holds its charge like it was brand new. Most people would just buy a new laptop, there was really no need for that. Unless you play graphically intensive games or use intensive graphical design programs, it is just wasted money. A new laptop would have cost $600+ This laptop now runs like new and cost $250, half of which was the cost of the new hard drive.
