22.01.2022 MIX IT UP LIKE A BUNCH OF HOOKERS ~ Last week we tested hook vs mixed grip deadlift 3RM . Why hook grip? ... At PP we lift to build strength that transfers to our gymnastics, oly lifting and overall athleticism (sport, running, jumping, moving houses etc). Whilst both variations stop the bar from slipping, the extra lat engagement from using hook grip directly improves our gymnastics pulling strength #chinup #muscleup #frontlever and is a no-brainer for anyone whos Oly Lifting! . What we found? After just 4 weeks focusing on hook grip, most of of our traditionally mixed-grip lifters surprised themselves with new PBs and under 10% difference between the two variations! ~ Itll feel spicy on the thumbs at first, but we challenge everyone in the PP Squad to slowly start building up hook grip tolerance for long term success . . #northsydneygym #strengthandmovement #lifting #gymnastics #olympicweightlifting #sydneyfitness @ Performance Playground See more
