Today's tip is around motor Vehicle expenses: Did you know that if you have a 'work horse' vehicle (a vehicle with a carrying capacity of 1 Tonne or more) general motor vehicle deductions are unavailable and a deduction can only be claimed for actual expenses incurred? ... 22.01.2022 What a stressful morning - I finally got around to booking in for head shots and of course had to get my hair and make up done as well. My car battery decides to die (of all mornings!!) out the front of my amazing hairdressers Karmen Hau Williams from MANE Boulevard who arranged for me to get a lift back to my house in time for my makeup appointment but also a lift into Bunbury for my headshots (and liaised with the Roadside assistance for me!) The lovely Makeup by Ashleigh ...Brandis who did a beautiful job and also gave me a ride back to Karmens and my car. Then the team at Henderson Photographics were understanding and bent over backwards to accommodate me being late to the appointment and also did some lovely headshots! These amazing small businesses not only did a great job but also added the extra touch of fantastic customer service and humanity to someone that clearly wasn't having a good morning! Thank you all so much for making a stressful morning turn out ok :)

22.01.2022 On Thursday the 12th of November 2020 our family was completed with the arrival of: Jay Thomas Goodlich Weighing 7lb 12oz or 3.51kg and 49cm In length (just und...er a size dhufish according to Robert Goodlich). Jay has been in special care getting his sugar levels under control and therefore under medical advice we won’t be having visitors just yet to allow him to settle. Olivia is already relishing her big sister role and we are all smitten (video In comments)

21.01.2022 A few weeks ago I signed up to BSW Connect - Business South Wests new Biz Assist program and this week I finally made use of the business consults included in the program. 21.01.2022 I am now taking appointments for the 2020 Financial Year! Appointments this year will be available in the following formats: Telephone - I can call you at a pre-arranged time... Video - via Zoom, FaceTime or other method you prefer Mobile appointments at a location of your choice (depending on location) *New* Meetings for the 2020 year will be available (subject to availability) at my home office located in Australind Should you not be able to secure an appointment at your chosen time, Tax Returns can also be prepared via email. Appointments for the 2020 year commence 14th July 2020 to allow sufficient time for all information to be available.

20.01.2022 Today is world club foot day!! For those that dont know- my 3yo daughter Olivia was born with club foot and is still undergoing treatment until the end of this year. Due to living in the lucky country and our amazing healthcare system Olivia will lead a healthy and normal life.... I am so grateful to live in Australia and have access to Medicare where Olivias treatment has been 100% free! #worldclubfootday #iloveaustralia

18.01.2022 The time has come as of this afternoon - I am now officially on Maternity Leave! I will be finishing off any existing work in the next week or two and will be monitoring my emails from time to time however, my business will be 'paused' over the next few months to February to focus on the new addition :) I will have a colleague available to answer any urgent queries if required - contact details will be provided on my auto reply.... Thank you to all my clients that have been so supportive by booking in their tax earlier than usual! Bub will make their arrival some time in Mid to late November and I will update the page then.

17.01.2022 Even for those of us living in Western Australia times are tough at the moment. Whilst I don’t normally like to dwell on things, I want to acknowledge the difficult times many of the people in my networks are still facing and remind those that don’t see it times are still tough for people even in WA. There are businesses and individuals that are feeling the financial impacts of Covid 19 still even though the WA government has done such a great job with managing the crisis... so far and reducing the number of cases. Unfortunately, people are still hesitant to venture out. Restaurants and cafes are quieter, small retail shops are struggling, businesses that have contracts and relationships nationally have stalled, the travel industry has been hit hard the list goes on! Even with all the planning in the world about ‘what if’s’ and saving for that rainy day etc no one could have possibly foreseen this global pandemic and adequately planned for the financial and economic impacts that have been felt across the board by businesses large and small. I know we all talk about supporting local but now is the time more than ever and not all ways of supporting a business involve buying from them: Check out that local café Follow a local businesses Facebook page and like, comment and share their promotions and specials. Explore our amazing state Never been to the Bunbury Wild Life park now’s the time! Haven’t checked out the Dolphin Discovery Centre make a plan to go this weekend. Have you used a fantastic local business give them a shout out, suggest them when you see looking for recommendations posts, post a review on Google and on their Facebook page. This not only keeps these businesses going but can really help build their morale during a very hard time for any business! You might also discover a hidden gem in your own neighbourhood. 16.01.2022 I have some exciting news - for those that don't know already a new member will be joining the accounting family! I am expecting the new member to make their arrival this November - yes thats right the pitter patter of another accountant in the making! I am planning to continue to work as per usual until the middle of October and I will then start to slow my appointments towards the end of October in preparation for the arrival.... I will then be having a short break returning to work in Feburary 2021. Whilst I will still be monitoring my email over the period, I am making arrangements for an accounting colleague to assist with any tasks and responding to any queries during this time. Looking back over the last two years in business during the application process has made me realize just how far I have come and how much I am still loving what I do each and every day!!

Please note that the fund needs to receive the payment by 30 June 2020 so don't delay and get in touch with them now to arrange to make a contribution....
