21.01.2022 Hey everyone! I currently have some of my artworks up @pasiniscafebicheno Been a while since I have had my framed pieces up, feels great to share my artworks :) Great way to start 2020, thanks to the staff for their support! I have had a bit of time off with social media the passed few months which is what I have needed, but I hope all my followers had an amazing Xmas and new years celebrations. Hoping to be illustrating more this year, but as most of you understand my health has been my key focus. Love to you all <3

19.01.2022 Well, May is Lupus awareness month! Been saving these self portraits to share with you until now. As you know from previous portraits I started to play with the idea of drawing in purple (colour for lupus). From there I went to exploring more in depth with concepts bringing therapy and illustration together. I wanted to keep using purple as the colour focus, but I started to play with the idea of text. I use diaries to express difficulties that I face within having lupus, an...d express problems online to support groups. I thought using it as a way to actually create the portrait was the next move. I have written about issues I have faced including, hair loss, weight gain, lupus rash, medication symptoms etc over my self portrait taken before my diagnosis. All the words are there, but in overlaying my handwriting to create the right tone, it now becomes difficult to read just like a diary and makes it more personal :) Please let me know what you think, I would love your feedback! :) Xx

18.01.2022 Firstly I want to say happy mothers day to all the beautiful mum's! I know times are a bit tough with self isolation rules with the virus, but I hope you got to spend it with your mum in some way today, whether in person or online :) It was also world lupus day today! I actually started with this piece before my self portraits I posted in previous post. I thought internationally I would share a celebrity I drew who also suffers from a chronic illness like myself. Lady Gaga s...uffers from fibromyalgia and was inspired from her film Five Foot Two that I saw via Netflix (highly recommend if want to know more about autoimmune conditions) I find celebrities have more power in the way people see conditions like I have. I have always loved her as an artist as well, in which why I drew her. Lupus awareness, as well as any chronic illness is so important to me to share. I appreciate all the people in my life that give me the support I need <3 Thank you! Xxx See more

18.01.2022 Well its the last day for lupus awareness month! So I thought I would share this other piece 'Bay of Fires' that I have been working with @coastal_shack Big thanks for collaborating! Its been awesome to work with your photos and to help me get back into drawing again! I have been pretty excited about working with lupus awareness into my artworks within location and place as a therapeutic process. Please stay tuned for more to come, any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Cheers! Xx

18.01.2022 Hey everyone, I know its been forever since I've been online and I think today is the right day to express what has been going on with my diagnosis. Some clients are aware, but I have been avoiding sharing whats been happening, for a huge part of me is having a hard time accepting my diagnosis. I was diagnosed with SLE Lupus and rheumatoid arthritis in June 2018. For these passed few months I have undertaken a difficult journey. I am doing my best to take up a different life...style, to adjust with living with this disease from day to day. I still aim to be continuing my art practice, for now I'm focusing on exercise and fitness with the odd sketch from day to day :) Its also World Lupus Day today (which has been a big push to share this post), unfortunately there isn't much in fundraising etc here in Australia, but I have been talking with Lupus Tasmania. I will be working with them towards auctioning off my upcoming artworks in October, for Lupus awareness week for this disease. I aim to continue spreading my artworks to help raise awareness for this illness in using colour as a basis. Reading being a therpautic rhemedy I am currently drawing from inspiration from books and film. I will continue sharing my sketches and progress as a therapeutic process as a Lupus warrior. Thanks for reading my story and be in touch again soon :)

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, apologies I haven't been online much lately. You did an amazing job and the installation looked amazing! :D I want to thank family and friends that have been there for me in this hard time. Even client support has been amazing too. Please feel free to message me for any questions, b...ut I will be off work for a couple of months at least for illustrations/commissions. Here are some pics of my art trail :)

16.01.2022 Hey everyone! Apologies for the delay in not posting for a while, it has been a tricky passed few months with a few hurdles dealing with lupus, but overall keeping positive and healthy ;). I hope everyone is doing well with the Corona virus at hand, I know its a tough time for us all. It is important to self isolate, please look after yourselves and everyone around you, wash your hands and keep a distance when necessary. Not much has changed for my daily routines within self isolation, but I have been sketching at home more now, will share some more pieces soon ;) I thought I would share this project to lighten the news feed. Big thanks to @tinabicheno for this piece I worked on for Xmas :) progress shots of dear lil Pedro <3 ... Take care everyone xx

16.01.2022 A beauty I finished way back, big thanks to Heidi and Michael for this commission through a difficult time. Still struggling health wise with doctor appointments in Hobart but still keeping a positive mind. Big thanks to everyone's support in this difficult time and wishing everyone a great spring! Xx

15.01.2022 Well this piece is a pretty special one. At the beginning of my diagnosis, I had no motivation to draw again, so I thought doing a collaboration with another local artist would help me get back into it again. Huge thanks to @coastal_shack who is an amazing photographer! For allowing me to draw from your photos. Its been about a year and a half to finish, but I got there! I just started scribbling at the time I started and that's when the idea for colour for lupus came into play (hence the purple) This piece 'the gulch' was taken on the east coast of Tasmania, which brings the concept of location and my diagnosis together as one. Xx

12.01.2022 I can't believe how quickly this month has gone! I have been meaning to share this good news all month but has been a tough time of flares, chronic fatigue and migraines. But last day of the month its not too late to share! Bicheno newsletter are taking on cover art for their paper, and I got my dear 'sleepy devil' on front of Septembers edition! I couldn't be more proud to be featured, especially when my practice is still on hold. I also have some exciting news coming for October which I will share with you soon :)

09.01.2022 My latest commission just before going into hospital... Pretty proud of accomplishing this one when in so much pain, slowly on the mend. Been drawing a lil bit lately with symptoms easing, been missing illustrating so much but looking forward to getting back into it! @Shanell Richards

09.01.2022 Well 2020 is nearly over, kept this portrait of Bear to share to kick off the end of the year with a bang!! Completed this for a friends birthday gift, took a while to complete but I learnt so many new skills and was a great challenge! This piece is my top portrait I completed this year (weren't many in relation to my health issues). I know its been a tough year for many, here is hoping 2021 is a brighter and happier year ahead <3

06.01.2022 A lil piece I finished near the beginning of the year :) I had the pleasure to know this dear puppy Zen, she is still so loved by all that met her :)

05.01.2022 Well for the passed few months, I have been spending my good days trying to come up with a fundraising event for Lupus week here in Tasmania. Seeing so many events happening over the US and UK, I felt its really important to start doing something here in Australia. Lupus week is the 14th to 20th October and I came up with a 'Walk for Lupus' in Bicheno which is my place of residency. I got a flyer together, an article about lupus awareness which I have luckily been able to pu...t into this months edition over the east coast newsletters. The Bicheno community has been so compassionate and so thankful for them sharing the flyers and news about this event. Tomorrow is the big day, and looks like I have a great turn out :D Hopefully we can help raise some awareness about what its like to live with a chronic illness like Lupus, and get some donations towards the cause to Lupus Tasmania. All donations will help towards research into Lupus, which may mean one day we will have a cure for autoimmune diseases. I will be donating this original artwork 'Looking over Waubs bay' which was a part of my 'Homage for the fragile' series in 2016. It will be a raffle prize that Lupus Tasmania will be doing in Hobart. I was hoping to be able to do more art this year, but with physio, doc/ specialist appointments and issues with Centrelink, I haven't had that many good days to illustrate. I am however truly proud of what I have been able to accomplish and very excited to see everyone that can make it tomorrow :) Xx

03.01.2022 Wishing everyone a very happy new year for 2019, hope you all had a great Christmas! I would like to thank all my clients for the commissions I had this year, and for all your support online. To end 2018 I wanted to share this piece. In between hospital appointments and recovery my doctor has asked me to try drawing again. This is an artwork I started before I got unwell and I decided to finish it :) I gave it to my dear doctor as a gift to say thank you for all of her support. <3

01.01.2022 Latest progress shots on a piece I just completed in time for Xmas. Love working with amazing photos such as these! Have to say it was really nice to combine a person with an animal together :) Have had such a tough couple of months, health has gone downhill again with Lupus. I am hoping 2021 will be kinder to me, even though I can't draw as fast or for as long I am grateful I can still do my thing! Bring it on! Xx
