24.01.2022 Timor-Leste is a special place for us, as one of our founding board members, Sally Lay, was born and grew up there. Recently, there was a massive flood that caused a lot of devastation. It destroyed many homes and infrastructure, and displaced many families. This fundraiser is a collaboration with a local Timorese NGO, Foundation Feto iha Kbiit Servisu Hamutuk (FKSH), who are currently working on the ground in Timor to respond to the emergency. FKSH work to advocate for women...’s rights and gender equality. This aligns with Jifunze International’s ethos of supporting and empowering women, and makes our partnership meaningful and one of mutual goals. Funds raised will go towards providing supplies to the women and children affected by the floods. No donation is too small - and it is all tax deductible! Please share this fundraiser, and let’s help our Timorese neighbours through this tough time https://chuffed.org//timor-leste-floods-fundraiser-for-tib

13.01.2022 Last Christmas, we ran a 2-for-1 fundraising campaign for our partnership with Alice from Nakuru Days For Girls. We raised money for 1,020 kits to be distributed to women and young girls in Kitengela. This program is entitled Uhuru kwa familia(Freedom for families)! We had hoped to distribute these kits this week, however, due to the current Covid lockdown in Kenya, we are unable to do so. This project will stay on the back burner until the government and health authorities i...n Kenya lift the current restrictions. #DaysForGirls #Sustainability #ReusablePads #EveryGirlEveryWherePeriod #EnvironmentallyFriendly

05.01.2022 The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of integrated goals that aim to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that everyone can live in a peaceful and prosperous society. Following from World Health Day, we would like to highlight Goal #3: Good Health and Wellbeing. Ensuring healthy lives and promoting wellbeing at all ages is fundamental to building prosperous societies. However, at least 400 million people have no basic healthcare, with most ...poor countries lacking in sufficient health facilities, medical supplies and healthcare workers. The onset of Covid-19 has disrupted the progress made in increasing life expectancy, in increasing immunisation coverage, in reducing child and maternal mortality rates, and in reducing the rates of death due to HIV and malaria. The pandemic and lockdowns have presented challenges in delivering programs and services to those who need it. However, this is also an opportunity to evaluate these programs and make sure we are ready to go when it is safe to do so #UNSDGs #GoodHealth #Wellbeing #Sustainability
