21.01.2022 This week for NAIDOC Week our educator Emily sat down with the kids in a yarning circle. Em talked to them about what a yarning circle is and then sat down and led a discussion about how to be a good or better friend. What a lovely activity!

20.01.2022 While answering our Jigsaw Survey questions, one child shared that they would like to learn about WWII. Today we set up a letter writing station where the kids could write old fashioned letters to their loved ones. This was a big hit and a great way to start conversations about the war and learn about children’s families.

04.01.2022 Children’s Week is off to a great start!! We began our morning reading a story that led to a discussion about children’s rights and introduced what this week is all about. This afternoon we ran activities about children’s safety and global trade and how they fit into human/children’s rights

02.01.2022 Yesterday we took some inspiration from our Jigsaw team at Galungara and jazzed up our emergency drills. We hid a fire box outside and told the children that if they found it they had to alert an educator of an emergency. Our kids loved this idea and responded really well to practicing a more realistic way of finding an emergency and running an evacuation drill. The kids extended on this idea and created a lockdown box to use when we practice lockdowns
