23.01.2022 Being a small business owner and wearing multiple hats seems to come hand in hand. This week alone the areas of focus for my ongoing projects included: - Graphic Design to support a Nationwide media campaign - Final preparations for a major industry event - Commencement of a copy writing project for a successful fellow small business website... - Revitalising a clients monthly customer engagement EDM since reopening post-COVID - Creation of engaging socials content and FB event scheduling for client with highly engaged followers including graphics development - Designing a suite of business cards for clients full workforce - Managing the small business ‘must do’s’ such as invoicing, social media activity and scheduling of client meetings If there is one thing this variety of work has taught me, it is understanding the priorities I place on myself are completely impacted by my clients. Their priorities become mine and it is for me to ensure they are achievable with the quality of work expected by myself and them. 19.01.2022 For me the building of a website for a client is not just about the end product - it’s also about the service in between. Regular communications, constant client proofing and testing and for those that need immediate online presence, a free ‘under construction’ landing page to get them through until a full site launch. I particularly love this one for Piper-One which reflects the almost finished full site and online shop beautifully

I designed the original site for Club Marion as one of my first clients 3 years ago, and now with fresh new images and video from Dorky I have loved putting a fresh new look to the pages. Keeping sites current and clean is crucial to a businesses online marketing strategy. Whilst it's great to get a site set up, the design is definitely worth revisiting and investing in every 3-5 years. ... 04.01.2022 When you run a business from home (especially one that is undergoing extensive renovations and a new extension) it's often difficult to separate 'work' from 'home'. I know - it's the #1 working from home rule - keep the 2 separate. Ideally your office space is shut behind closed doors with little access (or reminder) of work when it's that oh so important family time. On any given day - this is definitely not the case for me. Maybe it's the love of what I do, or the nee...d to satisfy client deadlines or the lack of 'work' space available in the house at the moment, but often I can't seem to step away from this keyboard. So.....on a long weekend and my family in need of some quality time, we leave the house and head South. This photo captures exactly what long weekends SHOULD look like. Not a grumpy face in sight. No 3 year old walking round with her leap frog laptop about to go to 'work'. No 6 year old telling her sister to be quiet because she's 'working'. October Long Weekend - you win. 04.01.2022 I was so fortunate to be referred to the lovely Committee at the Glenelg Community Club (thanks Heather ) to discuss the design of their first ever website. I quickly identified the need for some basic branding which I turned around quickly to guide the development and design of the new site. It was so important to me, and them, to capture the culture and clientele of the Centre. 03.01.2022 It’s so important to embrace the silly. To be able to slip from the ‘corporate/business’ you to the ‘fun loving, carefree and genuine’ you is a bloody performance art. I have built some of the strongest and reliable business relationships over the years and I truly believe it is because I allow for glimpses of my silly self in my corporate self. The genuineness I enter into every relationship with is incredibly important to me. And in fact - I doubt I could change it even if I tried! So my advice to those keen to build long lasting business relationships and partnerships??? Be genuine. Be humble. Be approachable. And at all times - be you!!!

For those that don’t know me, here’s a little snapshot; what makes me tick and just why Jigsaw Marketing Solutions means so much to me. I’m a pretty simple ol’ gal - family | friends | creation | fun - drive me each and every day. I am completely about the #real - I have no time for #fake. Strange, as the majority of my working life is spent in the online and social media stratosphe...re! (#TheSocialDilemma) I’m somewhat of an organiser (haha ‘somewhat’) but hey how else do I run a small business, work a part time job, have 2 young girls to keep up with, a hubby with his own successful small business and just for kicks about to embark on a huge house Reno/extension on our beautiful 1920’s bungalow!!! #justsayin So why Jigsaw??? In short, I couldn’t not. You know those niggling ideas that eat at you? Like - for YEARS??!! That was me. I had no idea if I could make a go of my own small business (#selfdoubter), but I knew I had the passion and drive and, with Captain Support (Antony) on my wing, I had to give it a go. It’s so strange when I think about it, I mean this is career # 4 for me, but it’s like I finally found my ‘right’. Can anyone list my other 3 careers??? (Just curious) So here I am today. Keeping my toe in the water with my ‘job’, which originally started as one of my clients, while continuing to build and learn through my business and being amazed by how much I love immersing myself back in the creative. So, in very short, this is me. It’s definitely the tip of a pretty big ice berg (did I mention I ran nightclubs in the late 90’s/early 2000’s?? There is a certain buzz you get when a whole heap of coordinating, marketing and managing comes together in one seamless function. To have it so well received by those that attended is just the cherry ontop. So for tonight it’s take away pizza and red wine, come Monday it’s time to shift focus to the next event in November. ...
