25.01.2022 !!! THERE WILL BE NO CLASS TONIGHT !!! Unfortunately Redcliffe High School have decided not to rent out the hall due to COVID 19. As a result we need to find somewhere else to train. I will be looking into an alternative venue today but in the meantime training will take place at 22 Sunbird Court, Moorina on Saturday afternoons, 2 - 3pm for Juniors and 3 - 4:30pm for Seniors.... If anybody knows of a suitable location on the Peninsula can you please let me know on 0400 542 556

22.01.2022 Congratulations to everyone who turned up to our new venue last night. We saw some great work done by our junior students with Anna Defty being the student of the week. I'm sorry to say though that our senior class was just a little bit rusty after 2 months off, but we'll get there soon I'm sure. Our next Grading is December 6th at 2:00 pm followed by our club Xmas party. I hope to see everyone there. Thanks to Stacey Kamrowski for the great photo.

14.01.2022 So I was a bit misled, We can only do non contact sports indoors from next month so full training begins on the 15th of July. We can however do blocking and striking and learn some kata until then via Zoom conferencing if there are enough people interested. The alternative is outdoor training at my place on Saturday mornings from 10am Juniors and 11am Seniors. Let me know which you are interested in and we can get the ball rolling.

13.01.2022 Training at the AJJA Seminar is not always comfortable!

12.01.2022 On behalf of everyone who was able to attend the AJJA National Seminar in Sydney this past weekend will surely agree that it was a weekend to remember. A weeken...d of training, fun and friendship. We attended the AGM, trained to our hearts content and ate lots of food. I know for me though, one thing stood out above the rest. For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Duncan Whitelaw as yet, you are truly missing out. Duncan is an incredibly inspirational human. Born with a degenerative variation of Cerebral Palsy, Duncan is confined to a wheel chair. He is still very self-sufficient and loves to live as independent as possible. He has trained with the Defendo club in New Castle for many years and has only recently been awarded his shodan grading. No challenge is too hard. Duncan lives his life by facing every challenge with positivity and enthusiasm. This being said, it was an easy decision for the members of the Australian Jujitsu Association to vote to donate $10,000 towards the purchase of a new vehicle. Unfortunately Duncans condition has deteriorated over the past two years meaning he needs a new vehicle that is fitted out with specialised modifications to allow him to be able to get in and out. We are still quite a way off from reaching the goal of $30,000 and any and all support to assist him in reaching this goal is greatly appreciated. The vehicle, once purchased will be modified by the NDIS and Duncan has the dream to be able to use this new vehicle to not only enable him to maintain a mobile life, it will also allow him to set up a service to transport individuals to and from training who would otherwise have to give up their training. To all of you who train in martial arts, you know that it is a way of life and not just a hobby and Duncan is determined to ensure as many people as possible can still access their classes. Duncan truly is an inspiration to us all and if you would like to know further, please check out his fund raising page: https://www.facebook.com/donate/771450683268448/10157208062421865/
