19.01.2022 The Four Bodhisattva Wisdoms with Ekai Korematsu Roshi, 7:30pm Friday's in July. The four activities of a Bodhisattva are also known as the four wisdoms Giving, Kind Speech, Kind Actions and Empathy for all sentient beings - the four ways Buddhas conduct themselves. Our aspiration to practise the Buddha way, has benefits for both ourselves and others. In looking after yourself, you are also taking care of all sentient beings. Regardless of ones own condition you are also ...caring for all beings by engaging in these practices. Therefore we must give without looking for reward or acknowledgment. Not having desire for reward or expectations is in itself giving to others. Over four Friday's in July, Ekai Korematsu Roshi will discuss how one can practise these four wisdoms in everyday life with reference to chapter 46 of Zen Master Dogen's Shobogenzo, entitled 'Bodaisatta Shishobo' (On the Four Exemplary Acts of a Bodhisattva). Copies of the text will be provided. 17.01.2022 COVID-19: Plan for 18 March 17 April Due to concern for the wellbeing of all who meet, practice and lead events at Jikishoan, the 21st Committee of Management (CoM) has come up with the following plan, for the month of 18 March to 17 April, that we hope will be helpful for all involved. IBS: MCA, MCB and MCC/Retreat #63... MC-A classes and One Day Workshop for 5 April, MC-B Sanzen-kai (Thurs, Sunday) will be suspended with immediate effect. Retreat #63 will be cancelled and deposit already paid will be credited to future retreats or other IBS activities. Be safe and well

09.01.2022 July Myoju now available online. In this special winter edition of Myoju, in which we highlight Jikishoans recent 20th Anniversary celebrations. The Community welcomed many distinguished guests, reverends and friends from Australia and overseas to participate in the week long program. Our theme for this issue is `Impermanence and Practice, and it was joyful indeed to witness so many strands of our lineage working together with the Jikishoan community, supported by Melbournes Vietnamese Buddhist community, to produce the events and ceremonies that took place. https://jikishoan.org.au/myoju/
