25.01.2022 Great visit to Patakijiyali Museum at Wurrumiyanga over on Bathurst Island. So good to see some of the old Marriwiyi and catch up with Sister Ann Gardener! Michelle Woody, Raelene Miller, Sister An, Aileen Puruntatameri, Colleen Freddy Puruntatameri, Matilda & Hannah Raisin and Pedro Wonaeamirri! 25.01.2022 Nirramayamangarrmiya with Pius Tipungwuti, Arinkuwula (Stone), Jarrangini (Buffalo), Wurankuwu. Over the past year Jilamara has had support from the Northern Territory Government to run Mens Cultural Mentoring through the art centre. With sharing and keeping culture strong for health and wellbeing at the centre of this project, many of the young men at Milikapiti have enjoyed workshops in spear making, bark stripping and tunga making, going out on country to collect materials, hunting, fishing, ornament making and yoyi (dance). Here are some ideas and advice from a few of the senior leaders of this project to help us all get through the challenging moments that are part of everyones life experience.

Awurankini Jana Yimaninmarrampilya Ningani, Karluwu Ngini Ngawula Ngima brings together several generations of Tiwi artists with the Tennant Creek Brio, to display works in the annual Double Tree Hilton exhibition. The works on show demonstrate a visual celebration of living culture and art making. Despite the current crisis, these artists hone the power of contemporary first nations art to demonstrate resilience and strong culture. This year due to travel restrictions, the annual exhibition will offer a pop up style event for those lucky to be in Darwin at this time.
