25.01.2022 Deadly Scientists in Jalmurrak class have been learning about Natural Disasters and for Science Week this week they have made their own exploding volcanoes. They have experimented with the consistency of dough to build their volcanoes and the combination of different materials they can use to explode them. Well done Jalmurrak and a big thank you to DeadlyScience LTD for all the science experiment books that have inspired these young scientists.

24.01.2022 A big congratulations to Tomisena Duncan and Tameka Lewis. Finalist and winners. Tomisena has been recognised as Aboriginal educator of the year for Excellence and innovation in achieving significantly improved outcomes for Territory students by an outstanding Aboriginal educator. She is winner of the Big Rivers region and the Northern Territory winner. Tameka Lewis has been recognised in the Big Rivers Region for Excellence and innovation in achieving significantly improved outcomes for Territory students by an outstanding leader. She is the winner of the Big Rivers region. Congratulations to these amazing teachers from Jilkminggan school.

24.01.2022 Thank you to everybody who came down to support our School today at the Mataranka Christmas Markets! We had a great day and are very proud of our students. We do still have a few key rings, earrings, bags and prints for sale so please get in touch if you’d like to see what is left

22.01.2022 News that makes you feel good - Jilkminggan school are overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness of others after receiving boxes and boxes of shoe donations today. Our students are so excited to be fit out with a pair of boots and we cant wait to debut our new kicks on the netball courts. We would like to say a huge thank you to all those who have donated!

22.01.2022 Tomisena Duncan from Jilkminggan School is the Northern Territory Aboriginal Educator of the Year! Tomisena completed Year 12 whilst undertaking school-based ...training at Jilkminggan so she could take up an Assistant Teacher role after graduating. Tomisena is a role model in the school and the community, and says "it’s important we teach students about culture and that we teach the Kriol language because it helps them to listen and understand. I want to continue working at the school to keep culture and language strong and be a role model for the students. Congratulations Tomisena!



21.01.2022 Wowee only 3 more sleeps and our colour run will be upon us!! Yep your maths was correct that means it is happening THIS FRIDAY!!!! So come on down to the school ON FRIDAY at 11am to be apart of our special event! ... The BBQ will be firing, cooking up the best sausages in town!! Here is a summary of this post in video form. 20.01.2022 Jilkminggan students have been working hard to prepare for the Mataranka Christmas Markets this Sunday. We will be there selling jewellery, key chains and a variety of items with prints to raise money for our School. Please come along and support our School this Sunday 9-12 at the Mataranka Hall

17.01.2022 Jalmurrak, Jabada and FaFT mob on the TV last night! Families and friends watch the video at 3 minutes to see some familiar faces. They did such a great job singing in Mangarrayi and doing all the actions. Dont forget tomorrow is Indigenous Literacy Day!

16.01.2022 Today at Jilkminggan the 3/4 lot and the high school decided it was pamper day! A big thank you to the principal, as she taught the teachers how to properly comb, brush, air dry hair and lots more! The kids loved it!

Well done to our Strong, Smart and Deadly award winners, our high attendees, our preschool and FaFT graduates, Our VET graduates and a big congratulations to our Year 12 graduate Adeline Duncan!!!! Such an a great way to end the year. We are so proud of all of you for such an amazing year

03.01.2022 Today the Employment Pathways girls had a fantastic day visiting a (semi) local restaurant. They loved getting some professional kitchen experiences and learning new skills. The students cooked their teachers and the restaurant owner lunch, as practice for their EON graduation in two weeks time. Well done girls!!

Flexible working hours. $29 per hour Duties include: daily clean tasks, special projects, classroom maintenance , amenities ... cleaning of public areas of the school, Maintenance of cleaning supplies Following work health and safety regulations. Ochre card essential No formal qualifications required Skills- organised and be able to meet deadlines. Transport from Mataranka is available if required. 01.01.2022 Today Jalmurrak T-2 class took a well deserved break and went down to The Crossing - a beautiful part of our community down by the Roper River. We took a moment to just sit, listen and observe our surroundings. Can you guess what we saw? You wont believe it, we almost didnt either!
