19.01.2022 Short Report on meeting regarding an artificial reef proposal held at Bally Park Rd this evening - attended by approximately 100 people, mostly residents of our... community. After a presentation by the developer , a large number of questions were asked about issues and concerns such as environmental impact both at sea and on the foreshore, additional infrastructure cost imposts on local ratepayers, safety concerns, design flaws and the likelihood of it not working and the taxpayer funding a private developer's business objectives. 6 people present indicated that they were in favour of the proposal with the remainder (94%) not being supportive/against. The developer has stated that he will not proceed unless there is community support - we would consider the matter closed based upon this undertaking..... See more

07.01.2022 MEGA GARAGE SALE Sea Rescue Tasmania will be holding a Mega garage including sausage sizzle and old flare/epirb collection. Where: 4 Tigerhead rd Dodges Ferry (...SRT Base, on the left before the boat ramp) When: Saturday the 21st July 9-2pm (Setup from 7:30) How much: Stalls are $20 (please BYO tables) car boots and small trailers welcome, There will be room inside our base as well as outside in the car park. We will also be taking Donations of goods to be sold by us, please no rubbish, if you have genuine items that might sell at a bargain price we are highly interested. We will be holding a sausage sizzle on the day (11-2) $2 per sausage (I can smell them now ) and $1.50 for cans of cordial. Flare collection: will be conducted by our crew (with the support of MAST) $5 per out of date pack of flares, gold coin donation per single flare and EPIRBS are $10. Please drop them off to a representative on the day and be assured they will be disposed of in the proper manner. All proceeds of the mega garage sale will help support SRT with ongoing operational costs. Once again if anyone would like to make a donation or would like to come onboard as a sponsor we are happy to talk, we are a not for profit organization and can provide a receipt for tax write off purposes.
