25.01.2022 Thumbs up to the guys and gals at Macleay Valley Mountain Bikers for putting on their first race event. We're keen to support it, and have been in touch with MVMB club members to give you details of rides you can come along to just for fun, or to see if you're up to entering the race itself. These dates are Sunday 16 June at 9am, or Saturday 22 June at 9am. The race itself is on Sunday 30 June (full details in the post below). Comment here or send us a message so we can contact you in case of poor weather on either of these practise days.

And of course it's worth mentioning that this is great preparation for the Jills at Jacks event to be held on Sunday 29 March at the Jacks Ridge trails. Bookings required.

22.01.2022 Accessing Jacks Ridge trails - effective 18 Feb to 2 April 2020. We've had some queries about road closures, so to clarify the current access we've made this map on Strava. If you're driving from the north, exit the motorway at the Nambucca Service Centre turnoff. At the roundabout, take the second left onto Giinagay Way (this is the old Pacific highway). Keep driving in southerly direction till you come to Florence Wilmont Drive on the right. There's a car yard, and a churc...h there, also a huge log with Kingsworth Estate written on it. Drive up this road to the end then turn right onto Rosella Drive (this is the old Old Coast Road). Keep going until you get to Jacks Ridge Road and turn onto this to the trail head. There's a couple of road closed ahead signs on this route, however this refers to another section of the road ahead and does not affect our access provided you follow the instructions above. If your'e driving from the south, continue over the Macksville Bridge as previously, and keep driving north on Giinagay Way. You'll come to the Florence Wilmont Drive turnoff from the other direction.
22.01.2022 Back to Jacks-Race 2

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Kirsten Knudsen who was awarded the Diva of the Day at our Jills at Jacks 2019 women's mountain bike race . The award was given to Kirsten by Mark and Pam at White Lightning Events, who were impressed at how this little Diva rode with a smile on her face, competing the three hour solo course in style. It was her first time at Jacks Ridge, and also her first mountain bike race event. A former triathlete, Kirsten took a long break to raise her family, now her... kids are very competent riders she's getting back into competition. Something tells us Kirsten will be one to watch on the local and regional scene. Catch her form at the upcoming Runaway Bride XCO being held on April 21 at Wedding Bells SF near Woolgoolga, her next planned race event.

18.01.2022 The trails at Jacks Ridge have effectively been off limits for riding and racing since last year when the fires first started. That's around ten months! After fires, then floods, then Covid, then logging, we have finally re-opened. Jacks Ridge trails are some of the sweetest single track in the region, and pass through many different vegetation types, from rainforest to sandy scrub dominated by candle-stick banksia.
18.01.2022 Another great opportunity to benefit from coach Karen Masson's experience and skills. More info inside the event.

11.01.2022 Incredibly saddened to learn this evening that Coleen Kehoe (aka"Polly Waffles") was injured last December and is now recovering in a spinal ward. The Hunter Valley Mountain bike association is raising funds to help Coleen make the transition back home when she is ready. I first met Coleen at a Women on Wheels mtb training camp where she was donating her time to help other women develop foundation skills in mountain biking. I also know from others what a massive contribution she has made both to women in mtb'ing and to the sport in general. She has given so much, now it's time for us all to give in turn.
