25.01.2022 Because they can see their chances slipping away on November 3, on the basis that they have another dud candidate combined with the tendency of people in times of crisis not to vote out a leader over a crisis that they didn’t themselves precipitate, watch for the Democrats to try and impeach Trump again between now and November. They’re just stupid enough and desperate enough to try it on. [ 185 more words ] https://www.jimball.com.au//random-note-never-let-a-serio/

22.01.2022 The first question I ask about this is, why? Whose idea is it, who is promoting it and what’s the purpose? And why the obsession with sex and gender and this freak show, cross dressing, drag queen stuff via programs like this and the Safe Schools programs in primary schools and targeted specifically at mainly prepubescent kids? To the casual observer it's quite apparent that those who used to loiter outside the school gate with degenerate, malign and malevolent intent, have tunnelled under the security fence and are now at the front of the class. 21.01.2022 Russian revolutionary Leon Trotsky once said that you may not be interested in politics but politics is interested in you. Actually he said ‘war’, not ‘politics’, but as the 18th century military theorist, Carl Von Clausewitz observed anyway, war is politics by other means But the Trotsky line is a line I often use to many people who scoff at the idea of taking an interest in politics and proceed to then lecture on how it doesn’t affect them. 20.01.2022 In his book The Lucky Country, Donald Horne wrote that: ‘...Australia is a lucky country run mainly by second rate people who share its luck. It lives on other people's ideas, and although it’s ordinary people are adaptable, most of its leaders (in all fields) so lack curiosity about the events that surround them that they are often taken by surprise...’ [ 722 more words ] https://www.jimball.com.au//random-note-the-lucky-country/

18.01.2022 There has always been different takes on the news of the day and something I’ve never forgotten was the observation by a guest speaker in the 1980’s at a marketing seminar, a variation of a CS Lewis quote: ‘What you see depends on where you stand’ Take for example witnesses to a road accident or a bank robbery. What they see depends on where they were and from that standpoint, how they interpreted events. [ 1,006 more word ] https://www.jimball.com.au/blog/random-note-fake-news/

16.01.2022 It’s impossible not to agree with Greg Sheridan’s overall thesis, but much of the problem he identifies with Western society and culture stems from leadership in recent decades that time and again has proven itself to be both dishonest, incompetent and incurious. The torpor, inertia and wrong calls are legend. The latest on revelations of incompetence with respect to our total dependence on China should provide a pivot point. 14.01.2022 The necessity to deliberately collapse the world economy combined with all the associated chaos, dysfunction and damage reminds me of the statement made famous by a US Army officer to Associated Press correspondent Peter Arnett, in the aftermath of the aerial assault by US Air Force on the village of Ben Tre in 1968, during the Vietnam War: We had to destroy the village to save it. 11.01.2022 The Lima Agreement was from time to time, a radio talk-back topic on more nights than I care to remember. Everyone knew that we had been sold out and we knew by whom but had no idea what to do about it. The Coronavirus has taken care of that. It was the Whitlam government which signed the UN’s Lima Declaration in 1975 that was the mechanism through which the Australian government deliberately sold out Australian industries and workers by specifically agreeing to transfer manufacturing to Third World countries, supposedly to help them develop. 05.01.2022 Whether it’s the ability of our health system to cope, the agenda of the globalists, our flirtation with China and the associated trade arrangements, the shuttering of our manufacturing industry over the last fifty years, our nose bleed indebtedness, mass unemployment or our strategic fuel reserves, a lot of different chickens are coming home to roost from a lot of different directions. 04.01.2022 The woke, corporate, Lear Jet elites and the Davos darlings like the newly arrived, preening and strutting parvenu, Michael Cannon-Brookes of Atlassian and others, delight in lecturing the rest of us from the rarefied atmosphere of their HQ boardroom about how we should live our lives along approved lines. With one eye on their personal global image and brand among their equals and their virtue signalling hobby horses like climate, gender, diversity and inclusion and of course open borders, hopefully the Coronavirus will be the great leveller and dent their egos with a much well deserved hit and focus their collective minds on matters that matter closer to home and closer to the aspirations of ordinary Australians. https://www.jimball.com.au//random-note-the-great-leveller/

03.01.2022 The sanitising of the language around the Chinese Wuhan virus is straight from the pages of George Orwell where nothing is what it seems and takes the idea of 'controlling the narrative' to a totally unprecedented extreme. Much of the media and the international left is absolutely grotesque, beyond contempt and appalling in the way they are trying to drive this on behalf of their masters in Beijing as the propaganda wing of the Chinese Communist Party and in trying to be all sensitive and woke, an element of the Western media is doing the CCP's work for them in trying to undermine the West, control and frame the story-line by parroting the CCP talking points and taking offence by proxy. 02.01.2022 There is a lesson to be had out of the Coronavirus crisis that goes far beyond the Coronavirus itself. This event has shone a bright light on other areas of what can only be described as criminal bureaucratic and political incompetence with the concept of the 'just in time' economy where even with the Coronavirus, there is now a huge question mark over the supply of everything from masks, to gloves to antibiotics and even given a major military crisis, fuel and oil, in this island nation, reliant as we are on China for so much of our trade.
