24.01.2022 Our small and family businesses right across the Morley electorate need assistance now. The $500 credit announced today just isn’t enough for small and family businesses who have carried the financial burden of the lockdown because of the failure of the quarantine system, and not all small businesses may be able to access it. Other states have rolled out assistance packages of up to $10,000, sometimes more than once.... We all know the Federal Government stepped in and did the heavy lifting with JobKeeper and JobSeeker. WA small and family businesses deserve this same support from the WA State Government. After the toughest year, small and family businesses need help now and so do their staff. Western Australians deserve the best, we have had time to plan and prepare to deliver the best.

24.01.2022 For those residents in the City of Bayswater please see the below information in relation to facilities and online services during the COVID-19 lockdown period

23.01.2022 No other state has had the head start we have had to get ready for this outbreak. Today Zak Kirkup MP asked the State Government to implement the following to keep Western Australians safe: 1. The immediate ban, today, on hotel quarantine staff working a second job.... 2. Open 24-hour testing clinics, today, to prevent the long testing queues we are seeing in the summer heat and help essential workers who do not work 9-5 jobs. These two measures will immediately protect Western Australians. The State Government has had the benefit of seeing the response in other states. Western Australians expect that our response in WA will be the most organised, most thought out, most prepared response to an outbreak in the country because the State Government has had the time to get ready, to get prepared and to ensure that we have the supplies and people we need to respond. Thank you for playing your part to keep us all safe.

14.01.2022 ***COVID-19 UPDATE*** At 8pm tonight, WA recorded no new local cases of COVID-19. This is wonderful news and our community did it again, well done us! As long as there are no new local cases tomorrow, that lockdown will end at 6pm.... However, there will be a few restrictions that will remain. Tonight I wish to share with you what the next phase will be if all goes to plan, after 6pm tomorrow. The post lockdown transitional measures for the Perth and Peel regions, include the following measures: - Everyone must continue to wear a mask in public and while at work, unless exempt or for outdoor vigorous exercise - All business and venues can reopen, except for the casino and nightclubs - 4 square metre capacity rule in place for most venues - 150-person capacity excluding staff at hospitality, entertainment and venues and events including weddings and funerals at these venues - Community sport can start, and involve up to 150 people including players, officials and spectators. - Seated service only at hospitality venues - Dancing only permitted at weddings and dance studios - 20-person limit for private indoor and outdoor gatherings - Visits to aged care and disability care facilities restricted to compassionate grounds - Residential school and boarding facilities can resume with a COVID Safety Plan - Only essential travel is permitted in and out of the Perth and Peel regions to other parts of WA. Schools wool be back for Perth and Peel schools starting Monday, 8 February, if lockdown lifted tomorrow. Mandatory mask rules will apply to all school staff and secondary students. Masks are not required for primary school students. Masks are also mandatory for staff at childcare facilities as well as students and staff in higher education, including TAFEs and universities. 10.01.2022 FREE PUBLIC TRANSPORT FOR KIDS & SENIORS - WA LIBERAL ELECTION COMMITMENT Zak Kirkup and the Liberals WA are fighting to make public transport free for our kids and seniors, to lower the cost of living and help families get ahead. Public transport costs add up for families and seniors and in some cases it is the only safe transport they have.... This is part of our constructive plan to keep you safe and help you get ahead.

01.01.2022 Zak Kirkup MP and the Liberals will deliver critical investment for early childhood education, because we know those early years of life are vital for social, emotional and physical development. For the first time in WA, the Liberals will fund face-to-face speech pathology services directly into government schools. An additional 10 Child and Parent Centres across WA will ensure young families can access expert advice and support about getting their kids ready to start school.... A Play Based Learning Strategy, will get our kids learning and socialising at the same time. Learn more here https://www.waliberal.org.au/.../learning-through-play.../
