21.01.2022 Thunder Family, Fire ants. Please be aware that we have had an explosion of fire ants at the club, unfortunately the mixture of wet weather and heat has caused ...them to multiply. Bio security QLD are aware and have been baiting and monitoring the nests, about 4 nests were baited in January and they were thought to have been eradicated. We now have about 16 or so pop up since the wet weather has stopped. Ive asked our coaches to be mindful when training, below are photos of nests and the ant itself. PLEASE DO NOT DISTURB THE NESTS, they will go back underground and pop up somewhere else. Just keep away from the please. Bites can range from red marks to sores and when these little buggers bite they do so on mass! If you or your child have adverse medical reactions to ants in general, please stay away from training until advised. The club will update ASAP. Thank you Jimboomba Thunder JRLFC

09.01.2022 COVID-19 Update!!! JSTA is aware of the recent COVID-19 cluster alert. Community sport operates using an approved COVID Safe Industry Plan and therefore we are able to continue playing. A reminder of your obligations under this plan:... Jimboomba Touch players are to enter between the club house and the shed as shown on the attached Site Map. DO NOT ENTER BETWEEN THE CLUB HOUSE AND THE TENNIS COURTS. Sanitise your hands on the way in and out. All visitors are to Sign in. Players - Sign in BEFORE taking the field. Do not enter the grounds until Thunder has vacated the main oval. Maintain 1.5m social distancing at all times. What are the penalties for breaking the rules? The Queensland Government's update says "if you don't comply you may be given an on-the-spot fine of $1,334 for individuals and $6,670 for corporations, a court-imposed penalty of up to $13,345 or six months' imprisonment".
