24.01.2022 I’m not sure what I was expecting during these lockdowns. In my mind I’d have all this extra free to finish up heap projects that I’ve been chipping away at this year. Instead I feel like I’m constantly being pulled in opposite directions and I’m barely scratching the surface. But you know what? It doesn’t matter. I feel like this is such a mental barrier for so many people at the moment. We feel like we need to be constantly achieving and kicking goals in this time of crisis.... I kinda adopted the panic style approach when COVID hit, but I quickly came to the realisation that this is probably not going to disappear anytime soon and I need to readjust to the current way of living. The reality is to date we have powered @kustomkommune through one of the most uncertain times we’ve ever faced and all with minimal government handouts. That’s a bloody big achievement. I’m about halfway through the new Kommune ecomm and tool delivery service build, the XV750 is getting blasted ready for paint, we’ve been getting through a heap of fabrication and repair jobs, I built an epic hydro blaster, @bad_gigi launched her website and even managed renovations at the workshop. I’m going to go a little easier on myself for the next six weeks, you should too. You don’t have to put extra pressure on yourself. 20.01.2022 Woah. It’s been a busy couple of weeks. We’re doing a mad dash to get the space finished before we reopen next week. Lots of new additions to make it feel fresh. We hope you guys love it. When I’m not fitting out the space I’ve been knocking up some new website additions to help manage the (eased) Covid-19 restrictions. 14.01.2022 To say that last few months have been one hell of a roller coaster is an incredible understatement. It has undoubtedly been the most challenging time for us, as individuals and especially as a couple. We got married, went into lockdown the day before we were meant to head off and celebrate with her family in Europe, we lost opportunities to grow our little empire and further build the community. We had to fight what seemed like an impossible battle to keep our home and liveli...hood and we both hit what felt like absolute rock bottom with our mental health. Once again, the support of our community, friends and most of all- each other, has pushed us through and powering on into the great unknown. If I learnt anything out of these last few months, it’s that love, communication and support for those that you love is more important than anything else in this world. If our livelihood vanished, we’d still have each other. If we lost our home, we’d still have each other. And in times of darkness, we still have each other. Nina and I are the one constant in each other’s lives and standing strong next to one another has been the most significant key to making it through. To have found someone that can support me in ways that I never thought possible and to do so with zero judgement and 100% love has been one of the biggest life and mindset changing points of my time. No matter what happens in life, we will always have each other. That thought alone makes me feel like nothing is impossible. 10.01.2022 Thirty fucking five. How the hell did that happen? It also marks 10 years since getting my first braaaap machine. I treated myself to a brand spanking new XVS650 for my 25th Birthday (probs why I couldn’t afford a hair cut...) and kicked off my moto-journey for the next decade. Crazy how time flys and where life takes you. Defs living my best life with all the best peeps. Thanks for the birthday wishes, you bloody legends. Made my day! How good is the bike pic!
