25.01.2022 #meditationresolution DAY ELEVEN: Hamsa with @mirabelle_sivajyoti Through the contemplation of Hamsa, the vibratory potency of the breath, our awareness and breath become one thing. They are married by the mantra. We bring Shiva to Shakti and Shakti to Shiva. ... Each breath joined with mantra and awareness affirms our identity as the infinite. We are That. The poet saint Kabir says: I am not repeating the mantra on my beads, nor am I repeating it with my tongue. God himself is repeating my mantra, while I sit in a very relaxed manner and listen to it. This is the practice of Ajapa-japa. Cultivating a loving feeling of gratitude toward the breath is to open ourselves up to the precious gift of life as its continuously being given. Hamsa honors the breath and views the world and everything in it as one divine respiratory process. Because we have breath in our body, our life is filled with possibility. The vibration of the breath, hamsa, heals the breach between the limited sense of self and the universe. We are breath and we are being breathed. We are the breath: The breath of God. The breath of Life.

18.01.2022 #medittionresolution DAY TEN with Susanna Harwood Rubin Gurur brahma gurur visnuh Gurudevo mahesvarah Guruh saksat parabrahma ... Tasmai sri gurave namah The guru isn’t some person who stands between you and God and demands to be worshiped. The guru is your guide, confidant, and friend who is always at your back encouraging you to take steps along the path. They move you closer and closer to the embrace of the divine. It isn’t always easy, but the guru demands that you continue to progress and recognize the wisdom contained in every experience. What is required for us to be untangled from our suffering? A change of heart. How does one have a change of heart? Wisdom. The creation of our lives is filled with that wisdom. The way it is sustained and maintained contains insight. The dissolution of every experience and the eventual death of our body is fierce grace. The scriptures affirm that the Guru is the grace bestowing power of God. The Guru is the principle of awake, aware reality. Guru Tattva is the way that the universe is conscious and alive and conspiring for us to grow. The Guru is contained in the wisdom of our own heart and the Guru is within the ever-present, continual, unending livingness of our life. Nothing exists but Guru’s grace. To come into contact with that wisdom in the form of our teacher is to be taught about enlightened relating. Every attachment and idea must be examined and every way we are resisting the universe’s plan for our life must be challenged. Through our relationship with the Guru we learn about our real, present circumstance, and from there we can continue to grow. The Guru holds and reminds us of the vision of our higher self until we are ready to claim that vision as our own. Through our Sadhana we immerse ourselves in the state of the Guru. Through Satsang we attain the vision of the Guru. The Shiva Sutras proclaim, gururupayah The Guru is the means.

17.01.2022 #meditationresolution DAY NINE with @wanderingvayu O saha nvavatu Saha nau bhunaktu Saha vrya karavvahai... Tejasvi nvadhtam astu M vidvivahai Om. May we (teacher and student) be protected together. May we enjoy the fruits of our actions together. May we achieve strength together. May our knowledge be full of light. May we never have enmity for one another. Baba Muktananda wrote: If a person with a taintless heart and a vigilant and pure mind keeps the company of a Siddha just for a moment, half a moment, or even half of that, he can instantly go across the ocean of mundane existence. How wonderful Gurudev's teachings were! His words were a lotion which removed blindness. Only by becoming a fish can one know how a fish lives. To understand a great being, one first has to become one with him. That is true knowledge. To receive the wisdom of our life we have to become open to receive. The flow of grace is continuous and unending and our practice of meditation and mantra helps us feel into that flow so we can be nourished by it. Just as important as guru’s grace is the grace of the disciple, the cultivation of a deep desire to grow and learn. By cultivating this heartfelt wish, we allow the Vidya Shakti of our teachers, their Sadhana, and the scriptures to reach us and transform us. To put ourselves at the feet of wisdom is to take the compassionate aid of all of the great saints and sages who have come before us. The wisdom of the ancients has come to us in the form of our beloved teacher. We never walk alone. Our longing to know the Truth is interwoven with the entire lineage of humans who have walked the path before us. This understanding gives our Sadhana great momentum and power. Within each of our hearts grace and effort finally meet in divine union. We, along with our Teachers, shine bright throughout the world.

10.01.2022 Meditation Resolution Day TWELVE: Om purnamadah purnamidam purnat purnamudacyate Purnasya purnamadaya purnamevavasisyate Om. That is the whole, this is the whole; ... from the whole, the whole becomes manifest; taking away the whole from the whole, the whole remains. Practice allows us to feel in continuity with life. The boundary of our skin can either be the thing that separates us from the world or the place of ecstatic union. When the meditator realizes that life is not different from us but that we exist as the very flow of life itself, he understands the nature of this mantra: purno’ham. I am perfect. I am whole. I am the entire universe. This is a movement toward total empowerment. It is a powerful reverence and a deep acknowledgment of interconnectedness. This experience is at the heart of all mantras. As long as we lack the experience and understanding of our own Fullness we continue to think of ourselves as small, separate, disempowered individuals. Our awareness throbs with all the power, grace, and wisdom of the universe. Our Sadhana prepares us to receive our own worthiness, our own enough-ness. We are no longer subject to being victims of time, place, or circumstance. We become immersed in perfect, divine I-Consciousness. By entering into and abiding in our own spacious awareness, we feel that we are everything, and everything is us. We are life experiencing itself. Our heart is Shiva’s heart. Baba Muktananda says: "What exists without God? What is not God? If you have found Him, you have found Him. But even if you think you have not found Him, you have found Him. Nothing exists without Shiva."
