08.01.2022 ATO warning the public about the risk of using an unregistered tax or BAS agent. Consumers of tax practitioner services risk being exposed to fraud or unexpected tax liabilities and penalties. Were encouraging consumers to check our TPB Register to make sure theyre using a registered tax practitioner. Our Register also includes more information about tax practitioners, such as detailed reasons for any sanctions and renewal rejections. This enables consumers to be more informed and supports the majority of tax practitioners operating legally and ethically .Displayof my registered tax practitioner symbol (symbol) to give clients the confidence you are registered and meet the required professional standards.

05.01.2022 last day of the financial year

03.01.2022 link to job keeper question

03.01.2022 clients who started reporting through Single Touch Payroll (STP) this financial year to tell their employees they will not provide them with a payment summary for data reported and finalised through STP. They should also advise their employees they can access their income statement from their tax agent or in ATO online via myGov, and to wait until their information is marked as Tax-ready before they lodge their tax return to ensure their information is correct.

03.01.2022 Employer will need to tell your employees: you are no longer required to provide them with a payment summary for the information youve reported and finalised through STP they can access their year-to-date and end-of-year income statement online through myGov or talk to their registered tax agent income statement is the new term for their payment summary... to wait until their income statement is Tax ready before lodging their tax return to check their personal details and if necessary update with both you and the ATO (incorrect personal details may prevent them from seeing their STP information) The way you get your payment summary is changing and Employee factsheet (PDF, 227KB)This link will download a file are available to help them understand the changes if they dont have a myGov account they can easily create one see Setting up your myGov account. (from the ato website) See more

01.01.2022 Payroll You need to make a finalisation declaration by 14 July each year. If you have 19 or fewer employees, you have until 31 July 2020 to make the finalisation declaration.... Employers with closely held payees If you have 20 or more employees, you should be reporting closely held payees each pay day along with arms-length employees. The finalisation due date for closely held payees is 30 September 2020. If you have 19 or fewer employees and are voluntarily reporting your closely held payees, you can also finalise by 30 September 2020 for the 201920 financial year.
