20.01.2022 Hello to our friends and collectors from Thailand. Most JIM collectors would not be aware that Japan printed one series of banknotes for Thailand in WWII. They are referred to as ‘Series 5’. They are not recognised as JIM but are certainly Japanese-printed banknotes from WWII. This is a 1 baht specimen with two mihons. Note the security feature of red and blue silk fibres in the paper on the left side of the note. The PCGS label defines this note as Pick# 44s1 which is most commonly seen with a single mihon on the left face. This note, however, should technically be classified as a different specimen type, possibly ‘s3’ but is not listed in Pick and is scarce.
