23.01.2022 Went mountain biking today. Got lost. Repeated tracks by accident. Laid down on a log crawling with bull ants. Rationed my water. Overreacted. Nearly died. Cursed at the sky. Questioned existence. Drank 3 litres when I got back. Might go again soon.

22.01.2022 For anyone bored enough to read my personal reflections of my 2019, as they turn into memories and brain rewiring, here they are. It was a year which we made some good friends and the year we decided to move 2 states away from those friends. Smart. It was another year of holding what I believe up to question and the year I was told I wasn't welcome back at church as a result of my thinking differently. I helped marry some people, and bury others. Cancelled my pastor credenti...al and started other meaningful work in residential youth work. It has been another full year of reflection rather than just a last minute reflection today. What am I trading my life for? What are my values? What do I care too much about that really doesn't matter? What's really important to me? Maybe it's a second-half of life thing. For someone who spends a lot of time thinking about life, doubts, pains, and the "why" kind of questions I've realized just how thoughts become realities. And my thoughts will steer my direction for 2020 too. Whether your year has been great or difficult I hope 2020 has more meaning, growth, clearer focus, less pain of previous years, deeper and more genuine relationships. That's what 2019 has been for me. Here's to the next one

22.01.2022 New Blog Post Day!! "What’s worse than suffering is suffering alone. When we realise that, we respond by coming alongside others and that in itself is an easing of pain, or at least a sharing of it."

15.01.2022 So nice to have people we love drive 20 hours and come hang out with us. Food, friendship, Ace Ventura quotes, laughs and genuine conversation. Is there anything better?

14.01.2022 Mondays aren't so bad. Watched waves. Saw dolphins. Got too close to the edge and got splashed. Didn't die. See, Mondays are alright.

13.01.2022 6am beach hike. It was so nice to feel the cool ocean spray after so many consecutive hot days! @ Alexandria Bay (strand)

11.01.2022 "They say ignorance is bliss, and that may be truebut not for everyone else watching!"

11.01.2022 What these pics show are the serenity of this stunning location. The places I walked today. What they don't show is the thought provoking audio going in my ears the whole time. The audiobooks. The podcasts. The music. Things that shift my mood up and down. From peace to rage and back. The stories told that change the way I understand the world. Stories that could result in me feeling either judgment and superiority OR empathy, depending on which I allow. The questions that come into my mind. Some to discard and some to ponder. Like, am I even posting for sharing sake or for attention? Careful. Don't ask yourself stuff like that. What image am I projecting? Who am I really though? Yikes. I should have just said "Beautiful day for a walk!" @ Noosa, Queensland

09.01.2022 What a feeling at the top of a morning hike. It's not the view that makes it so good but the feeling of accomplishment after completing a difficult process.

06.01.2022 The tastiest burgers and the best company.

05.01.2022 I love where I live. And it's so nice to catch up with my sister and brother-in-law and kids.

03.01.2022 Happy 13th Birthday Aurora! Can't believe you're a teenager already!! Have the best year, girl!

03.01.2022 I just finished reading this book, and totally enjoyed it. Fascinating and well written. One thing I couldn't help notice was just how familiar the beliefs and culture sounded to those I had myself participated in. Where the actions and methods of those in the story seemed extreme, the things that lead them there were very normal and familiar processes. Quite an eye opener. An important book with an important conversation.

01.01.2022 Top o the mountain to ya.
