19.01.2022 Introducing a series of important publications that describe and clarify industry consensus on safe and current skills, techniques and equipment used in arboric...ulture and vegetation management. MINIMUM INDUSTRY STANDARDS - MIS304 AERIAL RESCUE TECHNIQUES FOR RESCUING STUCK OR INJURED CLIMBERS Since the release of the SafeWork Australia Guidance for Managing Risks in Tree Trimming and Removal Works in 2016, having a rescue climber on site when conducting climbing works has been a requirement on Australian tree work sites. MIS304 Aerial Rescue includes up-to-date information on preparing for rescue, responding to an emergency, and core skills for conducting a rescue. Developed with assistance from emergency services rescue professionals, the MIS also provides guidance on training and practicing rescues, and on "spot-rescues" - simulated rescues when the crew are not expecting a rescue practice to take place. Techniques include lifting and transferring the casualty, dealing with poor rope angles, and an industry agreed process for responding to an emergency event. 13.01.2022 I love this land Australia, it’s coursing through my veins, But I’ve gotta tell ya mate, I like it better when it rains. The countryside is dying and there’s ju...st no end in sight, and just to rub salt in the wounds, the bush has caught alight. The landscape is on fire from Brisbane to the Gong And everybody’s asking where the hell did we go wrong? But we can get through this one if we help each other out, take care of your neighbour , that’s what Aussies are about. The rain is going to fall again , the good times will return. But living in Australia means at times it’s going to burn. So if you need a helping hand, just give a mate a call. We’re all here to help you out and catch you when you fall. The RFS, the SES, the Firies, and police, all put their lives upon the line to help to keep the peace. So hats off to these heroes and thanks for all you do And I hope when this is over we can make it up to you! Troy Gerdes.
