19.01.2022 On Tuesday 10 November Jindabyne Lions held their first dinner meeting for many months at the The Jindabyne Hotel. Bush Fires and Covid 19 restrictions has restricted gatherings. The club is keen to recruit new members so that the community volunteer and fundraising work it does can continue. President Judy Pidcock spoke to visitors about the events that Lions run including sausage sizzles, the Seniors Christmas Party, ANZAC Day Dawn Service breakfast, Annual Art Show and t...he local Australia Day celebrations to name a few. The club needs manpower and willing helpers to keep these events going in the future. District Governor, Maxine Helming was a guest speaker and was also there to award Brian Farmer and Brian Phillips with the prestigious Chevron award for their many year of service to the Club. Words cannot express the time and effort these two men have contributed to our community. Other special guests were Paul Helming, a past District Governor and Zone Chairman, John Neilson from Cooma Club. A special talk and video presentation was given by guest local Alison Riehs, mother to Bella who has a range of serious health conditions. Jindabyne Lions has undertaken the challenge of helping raise funds to supply a seizure alert dog for Bella. This is a very expensive and time consuming task and both the club and foundations within Lions International are committed to help the cause. Jindabyne Lions Club is a diverse and inclusive group that works together through a variety of outlets to improve our community. If you are interested in joining contact President Judy on 0412 167 993 or email [email protected] See more
