25.01.2022 Congratulations to Teyvia, Ryker, Tessa and Tor who competed last weekend in the ACT State Championships. There were fantastic results from everyone! Unfortunately some events were cancelled on the 2nd day due to the weather. ... Well done on all your achievements and great sportsmanship!

23.01.2022 Hello Athletes and Parents, Thank you to those who have already entered the 2020 Little Athletics ACT Multi Carnival. Please see below some important information about the Multi Carnival. I am pleased to advise that the Board of Little Athletics ACT has decided that all entry money for the Multi Carnival will be donated to a charity to support those affected by the bushfires. ... Please ensure that when you enter you tick the box on the right hand side of the screen on the page where it lists the registered member/s name and events available. If you do not do this you will not be able to pay the $10.00 and therefore won't be entered into the event. Please check your receipt. If it is showing $0.00 it means you have not selected an event and paid. The entry is not valid and you will need to go back in and select an event and pay before the closing date. The closing date for entries has been moved to 11:59pm Sunday 9th February so you have afew more days to enter. There will be no late entries allowed. If when you go into the nominations section it is stating that the event it is close this is because I am waiting for a few centres to accept the invitation to the event so families can enter. 20.01.2022 Dear Parents and Athletes, After reviewing the current and predicted weather conditions and after speaking to ACT Health, the Organising Committee have made the difficult decision to cancel the Coles Little Athletics ACT Relay Carnival which was due to be held tomorrow 14th December. With people travelling from Interstate for this carnival we believe calling it now is the best course of action. ACT Health classes children 14 years and younger in the sensitive group. This mean...s that children should reduce prolonged or heavy physical activity and where possible, should also limit the time spent outdoors for a readings over 25.9 PM2.5. With it being predicted that these readings will be reached tomorrow we believe it is in the best interest of everyone. 15.01.2022 Parents, After taking advice from the ACT Health Department this afternoon we have decided that the 2020 People’s Choice Credit Union State Championships will proceed as planned. Please note we have received the following advice from the AIS about those attending the Championships: In line with updated Australian and ACT Government health measures if anyone attending your event has travelled internationally in the last 14 days, or has been in contact with anyone that has been... diagnosed with COVID-19 they cannot access AIS facilities. We will continue to monitor the situation and if anything changes you will receive an email from us. 09.01.2022 Only 2 weeks left to nominate for ALAC! What is ALAC? ALAC is the Australian Little Athletics Championships. It is a 2-day competition comprising the Australian Teams Championships for U13 athletes, and the Multi-Event Championships for U15 athletes. Each Association may enter a team of up to 26 athletes. Generally, the ACT will select and nominate teams of 13 boys and 13 girls, although the gender composition is at the discretion of each Association.... When is ALAC? The 2020 ALAC will be held on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 at the AIS Athletics Track, Canberra and the closing date for nominations is 12 March. Little Athletics ACT spirit While ALAC is the highest level of competition in Little Athletics and it is important to remember that this is a team event and every performance makes a difference to the team. 08.01.2022 Hello Parents and Athletes, As some of you would be aware Little Athletics ACT is hosting the 2020 Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC) at the AIS on 18th and 19th April. To ensure we run a successful event we need your assistance. This is our opportunity to show the rest of the country how well the ACT athletics family can conduct a National Event. We are current looking for the following assistance.... Junior Volunteers- Under 11's and older 4 medal presenters 5 Jumps and throws scoreboard operators 10 basket carriers 9 runners Ideally these volunteers will be available to assist at the State Championships however we understand most will be competing. Volunteers will receive a shirt and will receive food throughout the event. Volunteers will be expected to wear black pants and black shoes (if available). Officials- 16 year olds and older Positions include: starters assistant clash manager call room assistant field judge track umpire Officials will need to complete Level 1 Officials education in the relevant area. This is an online course which you cannot fail. Officials will also need ot be available for the State Championships. Officials will receive a shirt, jacket and hat as well as food throughout the event. Officials will be expected to wear black pants and black shoes. With community sport and recreation activities returning as COVID-19 restrictions ease, the NSW Government today an...nounced a Community Sport Recovery Package to help the sector get back on its feet. The $27.3 million recovery package includes financial support and assistance for sport and recreation organisations across NSW. A one-off grant of up to $1,000 will be provided to close to 12,500 local sporting clubs and associations across the State to assist clubs for when sport resumes on 1 July.
