12.01.2022 Jindi and Lucky Cluckers farm all safe from the fires. We didn’t get a strong wind change so never headed our way.

12.01.2022 Clucker 357’s blog. March 2919 OMG...Did you listen to the ABC during the fires? If only us cluckers did! We had no idea of the mortal dangers we faced. The expected winds of up to 70km/h, falling embers and exploding trees. Even too late to evacuate! Where could we go and how? We might have been fried chicken, smoked eggs, our goose could have been cooked ( if I was a goose, which I’m not). But I did notice that there was a strange sky, eerie, and all that ploughing up... of the paddocks along the boundaries and in front of our trailers. Which now I understand was suppose to save us from spot fires. Good grief the pictures in the Gazette showed that was a waste of time, or was it? This week when our trailers moved onto new pasture our delight could not be contained. Wonderful long stretches of soft loose ploughed dirt. We are in paradise. Dig, dust bathing, and bury ourselves in endless dry dusty dirt. Than in the evening jump up on the perches and shake ourselves silly to send plumes of dust all over the egg collection belt and through the nesting boxes. Drives the egg collectors nuts. Chuckle chuckle. Clucker 357 over and safe. Jindi Free Range Eggs. See more

11.01.2022 Thank you to all who came to visit our open garden on the weekend. It was wonderful to share ideas and talk to so many friends, family and fellow gardeners. We were completely talked out and exhausted but loved every minute of it. Cheers.

09.01.2022 Bluebelle got bogged last week with all the rain. After many attempts be finally got her unstuck and up on high ground today just before the rain started again.

09.01.2022 We have the delightful Spider Lee in our garden this weekend who enjoys meeting and showing her work to people. Children’s author and illustrator.

08.01.2022 The open Creative Harvest garden is very close. Lots of work in planting way too many veggies for a small family, so that means heaps for us chickens. Run away Zucchini’s, flying saucer squash’s, beans please, sweet corn galore, and my favourite, Asian greens in abundance all coming our way. Book Choy Yummy. Bye for now, Lucky Clucker 500,

08.01.2022 Girls enjoying higher ground this week and their favourite dirt hill.

07.01.2022 Wasn’t sure if we would get much use out of this water trailer with fire pump which we bought 3 years ago. But it gets used almost every day. Filling up the 3 chicken trailers when it doesn’t rain. Trailers use 1000 Lts about every 5 days. Watering trees, Burn off days and on fire alert days.

07.01.2022 Cattle are very funny at times. The trampolines are always popular with our girls. Just watching

01.01.2022 We chop this rose off at the ground every couple of years and it just keeps coming back. Beautiful.
