25.01.2022 The children in the sessional room have been diving into exploring more scientific based experiences and experimenting with cause and effect. We explored alongside the children two experiences, Magic milk and Fizzy Science, which use basic household items that can also be explored at home. During this time the children were encouraged to hypothesize and make predictions about what they thought would occur during these experiments. Their gasps as they witness a chemical reaction or surprising change is the best way to set their minds off into a flurry of questions and wanting to know more, and we will continue to explore more experiences like these

21.01.2022 Our writing table in the sessional room always has a provocation to encourage the childrens early and emergent literacy skills. This theme is a potion making table. The children have the opportunity to create their own potion and then write up the recipe, with examples to go by.

17.01.2022 The children in the sessional 2 room were invited to join in on a discussion about the weather. The discussion was held based on the childrens wonder and interest in the change in season. The children openly shared their thoughts and ideas about the changes they had noticed; Its getting colder... You need to wear warm jumpers, beanies and gloves too Gumboots to jump into muddy puddles too The children then shared knowledge about the season Its winter! The clouds are white and fluffy, but sometimes they are grey too The clouds turn grey and it tells us its going to rain The leaves are all fallen from the tree, they are bare In some place it snows and you can make snow men or have snow ball fights It only snows in the forests and mountains in Australia Upon finishing our discussion, the children were invited to the weather exploration table to create art works stemming from their imagination and knowledge about the weather.

16.01.2022 The Sessional children have been exploring the 5 senses this term and so far, the children have extended their knowledge on their touch, taste and hear senses. They created natural material art pieces where they described what they felt on the page. We also made smoothies and popped popcorn so the children could use descriptive words to explain what they see, hear, taste, touch and smell. These experiences provide the children so many opportunities to support their understanding themselves and their bodies as well as extend on their language. Children will learn to use their sensory capabilities with increasing integration, skill and purpose to explore and respond to their world

Its a day to venture outdoors and get to know your community, and most importantly, to have fun!

10.01.2022 The children in the Sessional 2 Room have been exploring Marine life, and the affects that human impact has on our water ways. As the children researched and explored this topic they became major advocates for Ocean Conservation. Using the childrens knowledge about the impact that rubbish has on natural environments and our land, the children illustrated an informative text book which details actions we must take to prevent damage to our water ways and marine life, and its in affects.

06.01.2022 Hello Jindi community, my name is Kim (also known as Kimmy to most here at Jindi) I work with our sessional 2 kindergarten Children on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays & Im the sustainability officer. During my time here at Jindi you'll also see me in the outdoor environments taking care of our garden and uplifting our sustainability practices. Today has been very busy in the garden picking all our fresh produce for the children and Families. We have exceeded our weekl...y produce to utilise for our Jindi meals, when arriving for drop off & pick up at the centre you may find a basket with fresh produce displayed in the foyer we encourage families to take what they like and make some yummy healthy meals at home! If you do decide to make a meal at home please share with us on story park or email us at the centre with photos and a brief description of what you have created! I would also like to offer my knowledge with the community, I will be posting tips and FAQ on sustainability practices so keep a look out See more

02.01.2022 The children in the sessional room followed up their learning about the weather by exploring a rain cloud in a jar experiment. The children were able to visualize what happens when the clouds (shaving foam) gets so heavy that the rain (food dye) has to come out. During this experience the children were encouraged to share their ideas of where rain comes from and how it is formed.

01.01.2022 Jindi loves to celebrate Diwali! Here is our new set up in our foyer filled with pictures of how our children and families dressed in their traditional clothing and some amazing art experiences the children took part in.

01.01.2022 Reconciliation week Such a busy week in the kinder rooms at Jindi this week celebrating reconciliation week Created stories using indigenous symbols in art area ... Created a aboriginal flag canvas with paper, held discussion about reconciliation and how to be kind and inclusive of others, we also discussed the symbolism behind the colours of the flag and its meaning Canvas with dot paintings and created a story with the symbol cards again.
