That mystification gives the Master power over the Student. That is something alien to Lao Zi. In contrast, Lao Zi is so clear and simple that no one needs a Master. Dao De Jing needs reading, rather than mystical interpretations. It is no rocket science and you do not need a Guru. Living in a cave will not enhance your wisdom. Every Mystic has a hammer and therefore every screw becomes a nail. Mystics see mystery wherever they look. However, there is no mystery in Dao De Jing. Lao Zi emphasizes simplicity again and again.
