We hope you're all very proud of your achievements - there were a lot of entries in the junior category!! Early on in the competition Vicki, Bree, Robert and I had the pleasure of giving one of... the Kent St SHS Photography classes a guided tour of Jirdarup Bushland. Thanks goes to their teacher Stacey Tylor for organising the excursion. Well done everyone! Keep up with all that great photography! ... and enjoying the wonderful inspriration that Jirdarup Bushland can provide! The Friends love to see the Town of Victoria Park community enjoying their Bushland! Fiona Photo credits: Stacey Tylor and Vicki

21.01.2022 Congratulations to all the winners and finalists! Thanks to everyone who supported the competition in so many ways!

20.01.2022 WEDNESDAY 25th - last day - last chance to see the exhibition! ... and to buy a lovely print (still some available at around the $50 mark when I was there on Sunday). Also, some prices have been reduced by the photographers - so get in quick! Here are the beautiful photos that won a second prize in our competition. Congratulations to these winners! I hope to have time to get even more photos up in the next few days. Sorry for the delays - I’m rather busy as I’m just days... away from submitting my PhD thesis (it’s on star formation in galaxies). The Images of Jirarup competition wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors, like Galactic Cooperative; this socially responsible, worker-owned coop helps all sorts of organisations with innovative solutions to science, engineering, repairs and maintenance, technology, sustainablitity and workplace wellbeing and more. Find out more at Galactic Cooperative. Thank you to our sponsors for all their support! And special thanks to Perth Pro Lab for the beautiful printing and mounting of the photos! Post and photo credits: Fiona - and the lovely shot of the Town of Victoria Park's Kent Street Gallery-Victoria Park Centre for the Arts is by one of the finalists, Melanie Moore (her photo is the beautifully lit gum trees cradling the moon). Thanks for sending your photo of the Awards Night to us!
