22.01.2022 What was the best bit about your weekend? How can you bring more of that into your life? I can't pick! I had a great weekend but I guess Friday was my favourite day. My eldest is on school holidays so we had some 1-2-1 time. We went to a local indoor trampoline and climbing place and spent many hours just having fun. No phone or toddler distractions. We had such a laugh bouncing, diving into the pit and just being silly. Whilst climbing I heard the most comforting and e...ncouraging words from my 5 year old to just keep going as he saw me struggling a bit. He totally warmed my heart. He is a very kind and caring little boy. It was great to spend some quality time together and just do what he wanted. We're so often in a rush to get to places and tick things off the list, but on Friday we just did something simple and fun. I will definitely do more of this. The rest of the weekend was fab too. We had a family day on Saturday at our favourite beach.....Mooloolaba of course! Then finished the weekend with a BBQ and park play with friends. 16.01.2022 When I worked in one of my corporate jobs, I noticed the Manager was taking up to a week putting together the monthly financial results for his projects. The data was in the system but his process was very manual to get in into the right format before he even began the review the results. I suggested this could be streamlined by extracting the data and automating the reports through formulae and pre-set tables/charts. I was able to eliminate almost all of the manual work and ...get that process down to 1 day, leaving more time for review, planning and actions. This is what I get to do for my clients now. 11.01.2022 It's not all about Income and Expenses! Business data is much more than that. Last week I completed a Leave Tracking file for a client. It's important to know the leave balances throughout the year of course! But this data can be used to help when budgeting as you will see over time when your staff generally like to take their leave. This would help you with scheduling and ensuring you have enough staff. On a HR side of things, this would also highlight any leave consistentl...y taken on certain days where further monitoring is required. Sad to say, but it does happen unfortunately. How the file works: The contractor fills in their leave details using a Google Form (very easily accessible). The data feeds into a Google Sheet automatically. Using formulae and pivots, I created a snap shot view for each contractor to see their balance and leave taken, and also an overview for the employer. The data is now captured in a way that future analysis can be carried out. Do you capture this data for your business?
