25.01.2022 Day 7 Full day of loading trucks ready for a new day of Demolition



25.01.2022 Day 15. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel Part two. Toilets demolished. I beams cut with Oxy acetylene gas cutter. Footpath cleaned and barriers moved to edge of Hotel once stood. Start work on removing slab of the Mary’s Commercial Hotel.

24.01.2022 Day 13. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. 14.5 Tonne excavator making a pad to reach the exterior wall to continue demolition on exterior wall.

21.01.2022 Day 14. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Clean waste and 2 loads of steel removed from new section of Hotel. Excavator starts digging out cellar which is full of bricks and water from the fire.



21.01.2022 Day 9. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Seven trucks loads of contaminated waste, two of steel and three concrete, taken away. Removal of the roof sheets and perlins in preparation for further demolition, in the uncontaminated new section.

19.01.2022 Day 15. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Part One. Last load of contaminated waste removed from site. Cellar and Men’s Toilets decontaminated.

18.01.2022 Day 16. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. 5 loads of fill, 16 loads of concrete, 1 load of general waste. The ripper on the 35 tonne excavator pulled out the footings of the old section of the hotel.



16.01.2022 Day 18. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Final day of demolition. 1 load of concrete and 1 load C & D waste removed. Site track rolled ready for delivery of clean fill. Excavators cleaned ready for transport.

14.01.2022 Day 12. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Front wall of hotel has been demolished and the middle section, Leaving behind the big wall of the new section. 9 contaminated loads removed.

13.01.2022 Day 17. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Slabs of the new section of Mary’s Hotel removed with both excavators using the Rock Hammer and Ripper. Footings removed and the side wall cleaned up of concrete and reinforced steel. Grease trap emptied and removed. 18loads of concrete taken off site.

11.01.2022 Day 10. Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Demolition continues inside uncontaminated area. Excavator drivers sort waste to be taken away from steel to concrete.



08.01.2022 Knocking down the unsupported chimney with a piece of I Beam.

06.01.2022 At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Demolishing the last of the front wall of the hotel.

06.01.2022 Day 13. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Part of the large wall of the new section is removed slowly with a pulveriser.

03.01.2022 Day 8. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Separation of Mary’s and eastern side adjoining building. The crew cut the concrete/ steel lintels with concrete saw and Oxy acetylene gas cutter and then lifted them out with the excavator. Six loads of contaminated waste taken away and two loads of steel. Partial removal in the new section.

01.01.2022 Day 11. At Mary’s Commercial Hotel. Big day onsite. J & J Coastal Demolition continue to remove waste from site. 1 load of steel, 3 loads of concrete and 14 loads of contaminated waste! Excavator drivers remove the last of the steel beams. The staircase is partially hand demo’ed then removed by excavators.
