Today on 31/12/2020, let us reflect on how we have been through in 2020, to commemorate people and animals that lost their lives, to appreciate and to thank RFS, auxialiary services and the community that stand by us through thick and thin.

17.01.2022 As I am watching and listening to the rain I can’t help thinking about people who are still living in tents and caravans because their houses were burned down from the forever bush fire. If you know or hear about anyone living in that situation, please check if they need dried and warm place. I have food. There are only 4 months left in 2020 let’s hope our 2021 is the new beginning for all of us.

15.01.2022 Just feeling violated!!!! I placed these signs around my business for many years but a desperate person still stole money from my staff yesterday. You could hav...e just asked, you might even get more, a gift voucher, warm food, cold drink and you could have walked away with some self-respect. I know who you are but I will not waste the time of the Police they have more important things to do. In case you don't know, like my mother and grandmother, I have been helping people who are less fortunate for years, that amount that you stole from my premise is "peanut". After all, not many people using cash this day!!!!

09.01.2022 The Multicultural Group and Eurobodalla & Far South Coast and the Thai Community in Batemans Bay got together on NYE 31/12/2020 to support and to reflect on our pain, fear and loss from the Black Summer Bushfire on 31/12/2019. We were glad that our event coincided with Light up the Bay which was organised by the Batemans Bay Business and Tourism Chamber. Under COVID restriction, our commemorative NYE had to be organised differently however still included people in the community by using "open house" policy. It is our way to say thank you for welcoming us to our new community.

06.01.2022 Today Sunday, 7 February 2021 marks the first anniversary of the end of Currowan Fire. The Fire that didn't discriminate and had impact on all of us. Let's com...memerate the Currowan Fire. The Fire that created a sense of community, brought the community closer and gave an opportunity for people to show their compassion to the others. Recovery takes time. My thoughts are with people who are still struggling mentally, physically and financially.

03.01.2022 Batemans Bay was devastated by the forever bush fire on New Year Eve in 2019. Light Up the Bay for New Year Eve 2020 is such an appropriate event to commemorate that devastation. Let us all be part and participate in this well thought community event. Devastation creates a community spirit = Stronger Community.
