25.01.2022 I feel so happy being back in my studio again. Just Look at that smile. It’s been a really long lock down and I realised how much of my self worth is wrapped up in what I do. I am sure a lot of you who haven’t been able to work in Melbourne and across the globe can relate. I feel so lucky to be able to create beautiful jewellery for a living. It’s by no means the easiest of jobs but I love it. Getting my hands dirty, solving problems, designing and seeing ideas come to life before my eyes. To everyone who follows me, thank you. 25.01.2022 Since Covid 19 hit, I’ve really been slowing down. Taking time for all the other creative practices I have that I often don’t make enough time for. I think so many of us are getting back to basics and too the things that are truly important too us. Slowly I’ve come back too my studio, to my bench, to my practice. I’ve come back with a new sense of purpose. Making for the joy of it and not just too fill an order or too pay that next bill. Making for the pure practice of it. And I have too say, it feels soo darn good to be back in this head space again. I really missed this state of creativity. 11.01.2022 Been working on new piece in the studio today. RINGS! I am finally challenging myself to make rings. I’ve always felt more comfortable making the jewellery I personally enjoy to wear. Such as earrings and necklaces. I am not a big ring wearer myself because working in the studio all the time I find they get knocked and can also get caught in machinery which can be really dangerous. But it’s been on my mind for a long time so I’ve decided to take the plunge and set myself a ch...allenge to make a collection of rings. I’ll be using a lot of pearls because if you haven’t noticed they are kind of my favourite.
