25.01.2022 The JKA KDA Melbourne seminar and Dan exams will take place at the JKA Aspendale Gardens Dojo on Saturday 11/5/19 from 3 to 5pm. Aspendale Gardens Community Service Inc. 103-105 Kearney Drive Aspendale Gardens

25.01.2022 Great seminar today with JKA HQ instructors Naka, Imamura and Hariyama sensei. The competitors were taken by Hariyama sensei through Sentei and Shitei kata which should give them a boost for the competition. The non-competitors were taken by Imamura sensei through Gojushiho Sho, Gojushiho Dai, Nijushiho and Sochin. Lots of focus on stance stability, movement control, balance and timing. Oss

23.01.2022 A huge day of competition today. The juniors did a great job and did them selves and us all proud. They were all courageous and performed kata and kumite with great intensity and focus - a budo focus!! Deen narrowly missed out on a spot in the kata final and fought really well but was beaten in kumite by the eventual champion. Omar placed 7th in kata. A few special mentions: Lucas fought a great kumite match, it was his best competition kumite performance to date - a reall...y cool, calm and collected performance at that! Tia performed great in kata elimination securing a place in the final and finishing 5th overall. Alessia also won in the elimination and perfomed a very intense kata in the finals finishing in 5th place. She also fought bravely against a strong and experienced opponent and never took a step back and kept constant pressure with some lovely shots. She even had time to comfort other competitions when they were feeling down! A very special mention to Jamie Bridgeman for winning a 3rd place in the Girls Age 15 Years kumite - Jamie fought with sheer grit at times against quality opponents and her skill and spirit was just too much for most. Well done Jamie - we look forward for what the future has in store for you. Well done to all the competitors - so many highlights and special moments, very proud of the entire Aussie squad! (Sorry for the lack of action shots - coaching doesn't leave any time for photos - action shots will be uploaded soon ) Oss See more

22.01.2022 Dear JKA NP members, in response to the developments regarding the Coronavirus COVID-19, all JKA NP activities will be suspended until further notice - this includes training sessions and the upcoming grading. Beyond Sensei Sharp's outstanding karate skills and knowledge he's an exceptionally humble, respectful and kind person - someone who lives by the Dojo Kun and a great example and benchmark for all to follow. Thank you Sensei Don for hosting Adis so warmly and thank you Sensei Toni for helping organise the logistics. Hope you all had a wonderful time. Oss

19.01.2022 Dear JKA NP members, We are so excited to see a further easing of restriction and we have been hopeful (for a few months now) of opening up the dojo again. Unfortunately the current restrictions still pose some challenges for us and we're unable to set a return-to-training-date yet however we will be working with the venues to ensure a safe environment and a return to the dojo as soon as possible. It is likely that we shall be in a position to reopen after the 22nd of Novem...ber, however, please continue to keep an eye on our fb page for announcements as news comes to hand. As always, should you have any question please feel free to contact us. We're excited to see you all soon, stay fit, stay strong and stay healthy. Speak soon. Oss. See more

14.01.2022 Dear JKA NP members, Due to the latest restrictions imposed by the State Government our regular training will not be back for at least another 6 weeks. This is really disappointing as we had anticipated a return and were expecting to get permission from the training venues to restart classes in the coming days - only to be advised the opposite. We hope you and all of your loved ones have been keeping well and we know its difficult but we hope you've all been continuing your... training in your own time. If you have missed on a few days (or even weeks) don't let that get you down - just pick it up now, an hour, 40min, 10min - whatever you can manage is better than nothing, just establish a routine and do your very best to stick to it. We will be in touch as this situation develops, in the mean time please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. We've missed seeing each and every one of you and we cannot wait to train with you again. Stay safe and take care and we'll see you soon. Oss. See more
