22.01.2022 You’re invited to share your ideas and priorities to help shape the future of our shire and its communities. We are working towards developing a number of plans to help guide council’s strategic direction over the coming years and this is your chance to get involved, have your say and make a difference. https://www.cardinia.vic.gov.au//imagine_cardinia_have_you

20.01.2022 I’ve got some great news to share if someone you love goes to Pakenham Primary School. Following some recent discussions with the school’s leaders, council’s traffic engineers and infrastructure department, I’m happy to announce that council will be constructing and staffing a school crossing across Atlantic Drive (near Abrehart Road). It is expected this crossing will be operating from the first day of Term 2 as a fully funded Cardinia Supervised School Crossing. ... Improved services and safety for families is something I’m very passionate about, so it’s nice to see this project receive the support that it has. Thank you to Sarah, Gail, Rachael, and Liz for your care and commitment. A big thank you also goes to the officers involved at Cardinia Shire. Another positive result for our community

16.01.2022 I went to Kennedy Creek today which is a lovely little creek that winds its way through Pakenham Hills. Unfortunately, I did see a fair amount of rubbish and junk, including this bike. I will be strongly advocating for improvements to the schedule of cleaning and maintenance of all our waterways. Off to the tip tomorrow to finish the job. Authorised by Jack Kowarzik, P.O Box 453, Pakenham, VIC 3810

16.01.2022 Local government elections are just about over, we will have results within a couple of weeks. A very big thank you to everyone who hosted one of my signs during the election period. Also to anyone who helped hand out flyers or offered words of encouragement. Your support was and is invaluable.

16.01.2022 Today is Remembrance Day. If you can, please donate to the RSL via the link below. More importantly, don’t forget to pause at 11AM for a minute’s silence. https://poppyappeal.com.au

15.01.2022 Hi everyone, There have been fragments of coronavirus found in wastewater testing from Pakenham. This could be from an active case or from someone who has recovered and is shedding the virus. It serves as a timely reminder to maintain social distancing and to get tested if you have any symptoms. Testing will be ramped up at IYU Reserve (Henry Road, Pakenham).... Stay safe.

15.01.2022 Yesterday, I caught up with Luke from Follow Baptist Church and Harpreet from Gurudwara Siri Guru Nanak Darbar (Sikh Temple). It is fantastic to see these two organisations work together to help people and families in need this Christmas. Thank you for all that you do for our community.

14.01.2022 Happy Saturday! A little bit of rain about but a great day for putting up signs. I still have a few left so if you live in the ward and would be happy to have one during the election, please let me know. Vote 1 Jack Kowarzik Authorised by Jack Kowarzik, P.O Box 453, Pakenham, VIC 3810

14.01.2022 We did it. Today the results of the 2020 Cardinia Shire council elections were officially declared at the Cardinia Cultural Centre. Thank you to everyone who voted for me and to my supporters. I’d also like to thank my family and friends. Congratulations to all of the other successful candidates. I’m honoured to be your Pakenham Hills councillor for the next four years.

13.01.2022 Last night, this statement was read out in the council chambers. It’s only a small act, but taking the pledge has never been more important. Domestic violence rates in Cardinia Shire went up by 16% in the last year. Even with the increased media attention, the problem is getting worse. Be a supporter, be a leader, be an advocate for change. It’s up to us to listen and act. ... We are about to head into 16 days of activism (25 November - 10 December) for Respect Victoria’s, Respect Women: Call It Out campaign. 12.01.2022 World Mental Health Day 2020 has been tough. Check in with your loved ones, ask them if they are ok. ... It could make all the difference. #mentalhealth #worldmentalhealthday

12.01.2022 Help end family violence in all its forms. Call it out. Be an ally and supporter of victims. This campaign has useful information around the unique challenges members of the LGBTIQ+ community face with regard to family violence and respect. ... It aims to continue the conversation in the community about all types of family violence. There’s also examples of how to call out discriminatory and abusive behaviour.

11.01.2022 Supporting small business this festive season has never been more important. Buy local to help our community rebound from COVID.

10.01.2022 As of tomorrow, ballot packs will be sent out across Cardinia Shire for our 2020 local government elections. 07.01.2022 This is happening in Pakenham now! Get on down if you’re looking for career information, expos, and ideas If you think anyone you know may be interested, feel free to share.

04.01.2022 This is great news! Teaching kids about banking and budgeting has never been more important. It has finally clicked that it might be inappropriate to have the banks teaching school finance programs. Financial literacy is such an important skill to have, we owe it to our kids to ensure this comes without the added pressure of commercial interests.... A big step in the right direction.

04.01.2022 Congratulations to Councillor Brett Owen and Councillor Jeff Springfield on being elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor, respectively, for 2020-2021. I’m looking forward to working with both of you, and all of Cardinia’s councillors, on achieving some great outcomes for our community.

02.01.2022 Great result for all Pakenham residents and all of Cardinia Shire. The best bit: 'It gets even better for Pakenham locals, who can look forward to three level crossing removals, a new premium station and a new Pakenham East station.' Racecourse Road, Main St, and McGregor Road will all be done too. What a (traffic) relief!

02.01.2022 Last year's Christmas event hosted by Cardinia Lakes Residents Group, where I got to dress up as Father Christmas. With nearly all public Christmas events either cancelled or moved online, it's nice to look back to when our community could come together to celebrate at the best time of the year.
