14.01.2022 So, I did a little experiment at home today: My vacuum cleaner uses a water-based filtration system as its 1 filter, & also functions as an air purifier. I let it run for 30 mins INSIDE my apartment. Its a non-smoking building; I vacuumed the carpet yesterday; & all the doors & windows have been mostly shut for the past 36 hours.... After filtering the air for 30 minutes, this is what the water from the vacuum looked like! Admittedly, this wasnt the most rigorous of scientific experiments (I dont have a pre-bushfire control sample, for example), but STILL...! (It definitely helps explain why my asthma has been going haywire these past couple of days!) Please take care out there, especially if youre doing a strenuous activity such as running, or if you suffer from any respiratory or heart problems! #bushfires #airpollution #sydney

02.01.2022 Sorry Ive been so quiet! Its been a busy year so far, and I havent had much time to blog/post anything. However, this article I found on MyFitnessPal was too good to not share! As most of my clients know, Im not a big fan of inner-city running. Trail running is great - it works your core, strengthens all the intrinsic muscles in your feet and ankles - but inner-city footpaths do a lot of damage to our feet, ankles, knees & back. However, there are ways to make running more safe & less of a strain on your body.
