03.01.2022 Building back to 240! . Finished my first volume block back deadlifting with 215. Whilst 25kg below my PB after the the run I had last year it feels good to be gradually building back up.... . After my beloved SI joint decided to flare up again last year I experienced searing back pain deadlifting 60kg and had many a sleepless nights. Motivation dropped to record lows and I had to go back to the drawing board. . Whilst knowing what I had to do rehab wise I found it as stimulating as watching 3 seasons of Antique Roadshows back to back. Sometimes however you have to eat your vegetables before you have your desert and thus stuck to the plan of initially resolving the issue and then gradually rebuilding my capacity. . Moral of the story, sometimes we have to do some things we don’t enjoy in order to do things we enjoy. Motivation comes and goes so don’t rely on it, rather turn up each day and stick to the plan, consistency and compliance is the biggest barrier. . PS.
