24.01.2022 Here's a few quick snaps on a recent garden and shrub/tree clearing job. Hydraulic grabs and a tilt hitch for the win!

21.01.2022 One of the final jobs of 2018 was a dam clean out. The base of this dam was full of silt and sediment from over the years. Once all water was pumped out removal of wet silt began immediately using both 3.5t excavator and the Kubota svl75-2 tracked loader. All unsuitable wet material was stockpiled once removed from the base, exposing the clay beneath. Layers of clay were excavated to maximize the depth and capacity of the dam and also used to re-seal the area excavated. All s...urplus clay material was also stockpiled on site and sealed. An area of the dam wall was repaired where it had blown out and a new overflow point was installed. The dam was cut and trimmed right the way around to allow for a nice safe gradient for stock to enter for a drink. Topsoil from the paddock was then spread over the high traffic areas during the silt/sediment removal process to help rehabilitate the small area of damaged pasture. The end result being a much larger capacity dam ready for the next big rain to fill it up and a very happy farmer. See more

12.01.2022 Last job for 2019 was a dam clean out. And what a clean out it turned out to be! So much sediment built up in what looked to be a small dam prior to removal. All sediment was stockpiled on the back of the dam wall to dry out, additional clay was excavated and the depth of the dam was greatly increased. Let's hope for some nice steady rains in the near future!

11.01.2022 Another driveway job completed this year. Subsoil drainage installed to help drain away ground water at the toe of the batter as this area always remained damp and wet for long after rainfall. Numerous water diversions along with drains and pipes were installed up hill from the house to direct larger amounts of water during heavy rainfall. ... This particular driveway looped from one end of the house to the other and then linked again at the main entrance. This was constructed out of 20mm roadbase which was delivered to site via truck and dog.

02.01.2022 A recent job at Wollongong harbour working on the repair of the historic sea wall. JLI Contracting played a small (but vital) role on the project by cutting down the fill at the northern end of the seawall in order to drain away water from the waves breaking over the wall and also rainwater settling against the sandstone. Fill was excavated, sifted and spread and any unsuitable fill was removed from site. The job was only accessible by smaller machinery and was on a steep bat...ter/slope, which meant the powerful kubota svl75 tracked loader was perfectly suited to the task. Working together with a crew that had to re-point (render) between sandstone blocks once they were exposed, exclusion zones and positive communications were established to ensure the highest level of safety possible whilst working near plant. The job was completed safely, efficiently and ahead of schedule leaving the footpath prepped for hotmix and the topsoil ready for hydro mulch. See more
