19.01.2022 Posting this in the hopes to get some awareness of this issue out there: Some people when in Victoria are exempt from the health orders requiring them to wear masks due to certain medical and mental health reasons. These people may even seem on appearances young and healthy. Truth is you don’t know and they shouldn’t feel they have to explain their situation with anyone other than to those they are legally required to do so to. Don’t just assume people not wearing masks are w...hat people are calling ‘anti maskers’. People in this exemption category can already feel uncomfortable walking around without a mask on as they now stand out when surrounded by those in masks. It can make them feel even more uncomfortable in public than they may otherwise already do. I have heard stories of people in this exemption category feeling they were being glared at, etc in public and its sad that this has been their experience. - Jaclyn See more

18.01.2022 Today Mum took me to CSU Vet Clinical Centre, Wagga to get an ultrasound done of my heart. My Mum was very proud I showed the vets what a sweet, gentle and tolerant young man I am, as they didn’t have to give me any sedation. I was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). As I don’t have any symptoms Mum just has to monitor me for now. I will not let my diagnosis stop me from doing what I love most which is working with my Mum providing animal assisted therapy at JLS Psychology Services. - Dr Monty

16.01.2022 I was just advised that Justin Clancy, MP spoke with Min Taylor’s Chief of Staff last night and they are supportive that cross border residents should also have access to the additional ten federally funded MHCP sessions not just victorians. They will now seek this from the Commonwealth . So may have a win. - Jaclyn

14.01.2022 I went outside this morning after it had been raining and got a bit wet. I had a great time but I am now in trouble with Mum - Dr Monty

12.01.2022 Mum decided this morning we both needed a day off work today after our harrowing week. Our sweetest, gentlest and most loving 19 yr old cat Chester bear passed last week who Mum rescued and hand raised with his surviving twin sister Maudie since they were two weeks old. And then our beautiful angora baby bun Storm also passed whilst under emergency vet care services last night. I am passed out in bed for the day trying to sleep the grief away. We have had such heartbreaking losses to our beautiful fur family this last week - Dr Monty

11.01.2022 Our gorgeous new baby bun Storm enjoying some late night tasty treats ! - Dr Monty

11.01.2022 Today I experienced another start to my work week with my psychologist Mum, which leaves me very concerned for my VIC/NSW residents impacted by this cross border closure and the stage 3 restrictions for my regional VIC cross border residents. There is no logic to what’s being enforced. If only I wasn’t a cat and had even just some power I would fight to let common sense prevail. Yet in saying that my Mum has tried to no effect. Each day I go to work with her I hear stories of the harm/damage this is having to our community. I wish I could do more...it’s heartbreaking - Dr Monty

10.01.2022 I have had some queries regarding eligibility to the additional federally funded Medicare Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) sessions. To clarify: Everyone who is postcoded to and whose address with Medicare is in Victoria and who is eligible for a MHCP can now receive an additional 10 (so 20 total) MHCP sessions per calendar year. At this stage, NSW residents including those in the blue zone, are unable to access these additional sessions unless they have been required to self isolate for 14 days. - Jaclyn

07.01.2022 Received two amazing deliveries of flowers and chocolates this week at work. So nice to receive such love. Thank you so much. It made my day

02.01.2022 Kids love to cuddle me on their laps. I do begrudgingly tolerate it. As an Animal Assisted Therapy cat I know how beneficial it is to their psychology sessions just me being present in the therapy room. - Dr Monty, JLS Psychology Services
