Helen Britton is a Munich and Australia based artist and jewellery designer. Britton received her MFA from Curtin University in Western Australia, and then studied under Otto Künzli at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich. In 2002 she established her studio in Munich, and is currently Adjunct Professor at RMIT University in Melbourne. Her work is informed by her experience of the vast and layered history reflected in the built environment, as she meticulously constructs pieces using precious metals, glass, stones and occasional collected components. Brittons work has been the subject of major retrospectives at Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery (2017) and the Neues Museum in Nuremburg (2013). Her work continues to be exhibited internationally and is kept in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. #MakingALiving | Artsource | Fremantle Biennale
