Look at this amazing archeological finding, the Ramat Negev council's maintenance and cleaning team uncovered in Tel Nitzana yesterday .The scripture is in ancient Greek, and the writing indicates that it was most likely the tombstone of a wealthy woman who lived towards the end of the Byzantine era. The script indicates her name, Maria, and her date of death, February 9th. Estimates locate it between the late 6th century - early 7th century. Translated from an...cient Greek, it says: "Blessed Maria who lived a flawless life". Who is Maria? The council will now conduct some research and hopefully discover more about Maria? Eran Doron, Mayor of Ramat HaNegev, responded, saying that: "it is exciting to discover traces of life in Tel Nitzana from ancient times. JNF’s 2021 Green Week campaign is raising funds for the development of the Nitzana Ecological Park. The park will transform an old wastewater treatment plant into an oasis, featuring picnic areas, cycling trail, recreation areas and playgrounds. As a result we will be hosting an educational summit/professional development day on the 19th January 2021 for Sydney educators of Jewish students. Educators will discover Israel for the first time or refresh their understanding of her culture, history and how it relates to their students and... their school life. Participants are joining us from Government, Independent and Jewish Day schools to create new connections while gaining a deeper understanding of Israel and their students Jewish identity.
