24.01.2022 A few leaks fixed on this roof! In heavy rain, water was able to make its way under the tiles and into the roof cavity on the gable ends. To stop this, we removed the old flashings, pulled up the tile battens, and installed roof sarking as a second layer of protection from the water and wind. We then installed larger flashings with more coverage under the tiles and a larger turn up on the edge, which will prevent any water from entering the roof cavity. We also installed a f...lashing onto the carport roof, which will prevent any water from entering the roof cavity where the main roof meets the carport. 09.01.2022 Man what a back breaker this was.. 2 men, one full re-sark finally finished! Roof sarking can act as a second form of protection when water enters the roof from a broken tile for example, as well as insulation for your home. All tiles were removed, the tile battens were pulled up and the sarking was installed. The tiles were then re-laid and the ridge tiles were bedded back into position. The barge boards were also rotten, so we removed the old boards and installed new, fre...shly painted boards. The gable end tiles were then bedded back into position. We then cleaned all the gutters and installed leaf guard supplied by @all_flowguttermesh to stop any leaves from entering the gutters as there was a large tree right above the house!
