25.01.2022 In @jetts_taringa on the comeback train with @alice_pashley to regain her exceptional strength after injuring her back. Massive improvements in the last few weeks with her hip strength sky rocketing The hip hinge is a fundamental movement pattern. Whether your goal is strength, body composition or athletic development; if you're not completing a variation of this movement, you're hanging yourself out to dry. First working sets below: 1a. 3x8 deadlift ... 1b. 3x10 SGL glute bridge 1c. 3x5 fitball deadbug #resultstherightway #doitthenetherway See more

24.01.2022 One of the most common misconceptions is that activity and exercise will make knee arthritis worse when in fact the opposite is true. Sometimes just a bit of guidance can get you on the path to active health. https://www.sbs.com.au//myth-busted-exercise-isn-t-harmful

22.01.2022 Sean in house tonight at Jetts Taringa working on a double banded RDL to hammer his posterior chain so that we can progress to a full deadlift. We've been working together for 3 weeks now and he is constantly impressing me with his genuine drive to improve himself every day. Can't wait to see where his drive takes him!!

22.01.2022 Looking forward to a busy week here at @studio_99_fitness_centre. Great to have these amazing facilities so that I can look after end stage rehab all the way through to elite performance under one roof.

21.01.2022 Great to have @collingwood_fc player @_jt__24 come in to see us to help him with his strength work over his Christmas break. If you’re playing football this season and haven’t already started with off season/pre season strength and conditioning now is the time to lay down the foundations for a great season. Feel free to DM me if you need direction or guidance.

17.01.2022 Taking everyone through some box breathing and they’re just trying to take a nap on me I first heard of box breathing from @defrancosgym and have trialled it with myself and my clients and it 100% works. This process of down regulation switches us from our intense, stressful exercise state (sympathetic nervous system) to our resting and recovering state (parasympathetic nervous system). It is VERY hard to put on muscle or lose fat if your body is ruled by your sympathetic n...ervous system. If you’re interested look up the effects of stress on: insulin sensitivity, cortisol, grehlin, leptin, T3 and T4. Try this after every workout for the next two weeks if you have any goals relating to strength, muscle gain, weight loss, athletic performance, well being... pretty much anything really. You will feel the difference. 4 minutes in total. Feet elevated, 4s breathe in through the nose into the diaphragm (DON’T let your chest move up towards your head) 4s hold, 4s breathe out through the mouth, 4s hold.

17.01.2022 Calm and collected... at least until the end No words of encouragement needed for this man of mental fortitude and a very crisp 115kg 3RM, 10kg PB after our last training block Seems to be every week we chat, Dave’s feeling stronger, more mobile and getting better on the course (although unwitnessed)

15.01.2022 A classic story of how a PT turned his business into a multi-million dollar practice. Are you a PT? Then you're mad if you miss out on this opportunity. Inspire Education. Your key to future success. Email [email protected] for more details now.

13.01.2022 Good luck in Adelaide mate! During this offseason @benkeays came in to @studio_99_fitness_centre to find a program more suited to his individual needs. Over the short off season he worked hard on improving his mobility, strength and power. Can’t wait to see you kill it with @adelaide_fc , see you when you get back

13.01.2022 Absolute pleasure to have @benkeays spend his off season training with me here @studio_99_fitness_centre. With only a month before being picked up by the Crows we didn’t have a lot of time together and Ben worked incredibly hard on his weaknesses and made some great improvements in his mobility and strength. Here’s to a great 2020 season mate

13.01.2022 Just a coupla blokes awkwardly posing for a photo @dom_churchett in today to go through some initial testing so we can turn weaknesses into strengths and strengths into... bigger strengths... in the lead up to Triathlon Worlds in Switzerland in September. Make sure you follow @domchurchetttriathlon

13.01.2022 Missed the memo about the black singlet... That said an absolute privilege to work with the right people in the right environment! Fantastic to be with a team with so many talents dedicated to helping others.

13.01.2022 Want to understand muscle growth? There are 3 main pathways to achieve this result; progressive overload of volume and intensity (frequency and weight), increasing metabolic stress (muscle burn), increasing eccentric (muscle lengthening) damage. P.O. Volume pro’s: Increase in muscle stimulus leading to factors affecting growth. P.O Volume con’s: Increase risk of overuse injury (sore knees, shoulders, elbows etc.), decreased recovery time, decrease quality of training.... P.O. Intensity pro’s: Increase in contractile tissue, increase in neurological gains. P.O. Intensity con’s: Increased risk of acute injury, decrease in technical form. Metabolic stress pro’s: Increase in muscle tension, increase in chemicals stimulating growth. Metabolic stress con’s: Decrease in tension overload through lowered weight, HURTS. Eccentric damage pro’s: Increase in muscle damage causing an increase in muscle repair believed to stimulate growth. Eccentric damage con’s: Increase in DOMS, decrease in volume. The takeaway? Don’t get stuck using one method, there are a number of ways to spark muscle growth, if you think you’ve hit a plateau DM me and we can see where you need help.

10.01.2022 Using some spare time before the AFL grand final starts to reflect on the week and adjust programs. A great session earlier in the week working through some high volume banded hip thrusts to kick off a massive posterior chain session with triathlete Dom. His program at the moment is aimed at improving his running efficiency and decreasing his future injury risk. Strong and stable hips are the key to stride efficiency, don't waste your steps.

10.01.2022 Great to have Andrew, Ben and Dom in Inspire Health Services on Friday night. Here we're working on landing mechanics at the end of the session to ensure they can maintain this skill during fatigue. No one is fresh at the end of a big run, so make sure your technique is on point even through exhaustion. Every step counts. #resultstherightway #doitthenetherway

07.01.2022 This is what happens when you mix dedication with intelligent periodised programming. One of the most diligent people I’ve had the pleasure of training - Rod has never missed a day with me, of his home program or his twice a week Pilates sessions with @eptim and @ep.nicole.b . Which by the way is included for all @studio_99_fitness_centre members! Rod came to me 6 weeks ago never having completed any strength training with chronic shoulder and back pain having spent his enti...re life running a farm. When we tested his shoulder and hamstring/lower back we were limited by severe pain and were unable to test any of our big compound movements because of pain. Last week we re-tested. Shoulder range improved by 5cm and 11cm, hamstring and lower back range by 12cm and we benched 37.5kg x5, bench pulled 35kg x5, squatted 40kg x5 and trap bar deadlifted 60kg x5 all PAIN FREE. Unreal effort mate. @ Studio 99 Fitness

07.01.2022 I’m now based out of Studio 99 Fitness in South Brisbane, offering strength and conditioning services for athletes and every day people. A big thanks to Inspire Health Services for their continuous support and education that they gave me over the past 18 months to help shape the coach that I am today. Looking forward to this next chapter in my career.

05.01.2022 PAIN MYTH No. 9 Good intentions and bad outcomes. As much as we try, sometimes health professionals get it wrong. Health professionals WANT to help but we need... to be humble enough to admit and acknowledge when change needs to happen. For too long we have relied on diagnostics and imaging for treatment of pain conditions. We know better now and we need to practice better. As patients, our beliefs about our pain and our bodies greatly influences our disability and the optimism of our recovery. If you take anything away from this post please let it be this; THE HEALTH PROFESSIONAL IN WHICH YOU PLACE YOUR TRUST SHOULD LEAVE YOU FEELING HOPEFUL, INSPIRED AND OPTIMISTIC AT BEST OR CALM AND REALISTIC AT WORST.

05.01.2022 What are you doing this off season? Toowong FC senior and part time #bodybuilder James Grogan working through his volume block aimed at increasing lean muscle mass. When we first started in season he had early stages of patellar tendinopathy and struggled to walk after a game, now we're pulling 3x12 @ 100kg trap bar deadlifts. What are you doing to increase your performance and decrease injury risk? #groganaesthetics #resultstherightway #doitthenetherway

04.01.2022 Sometimes we need to put our faith into the hands of others when it comes to guiding our health. Let’s make sure they aren’t a bunch of pelicans.

02.01.2022 How many runners does it take to perform a step up? Loving the looks of concentration on display here from the boys @gumnazo @dom_churchett @andrew_white3 working on their running tekkers at the back end of their new strength development block @inspirehealthservices . When done well, strength is vital for runners as it allows us to apply more force into the ground giving us greater stride efficiency as well as providing injury prevention. #resultstherightway #doitthenetherway
