25.01.2022 A very proud mummy moment! My 21 year old son is now the owner of his very first home! As soon as he finished year 12, he went straight into an Automotive Spray Painting apprenticeship and is qualified next month.... He has worked and studied hard ever since the day he started and to be a home owner at such a young age, I couldn't be be happier for him. Good on you son! Your vision and dedication is paying off!

24.01.2022 Had an absolutely fabulous night at the reopening of the General Sikorski Polish Club. There’s a party here all weekend! This little gem is a hidden secret in my hometown of Bellevue. ... Fantastic for events up to 500 people and fabulous meals for as little as $15! Thank you Vlodek and Beata for your hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Come and check it out!
23.01.2022 I am the President of the Liberal Hasluck Womens Committee and we were proud to have a Guest Speaker, Owen Briffa of Lost Mundaring and Surrounds. Owen is only 14 years of age and is passionate about researching local History and educating people. He would also like to be the CEO of the Mundaring Shire when he finishes school! I love to see a young person with passion and ambition.... Special thanks to the Swan View Tavern for putting on a fabulous meal and decking out the room in a Christmas theme for us. The staff were fantastic to deal with and the meals were huge! Highly recommended for any special function. The Hasluck Liberal Womens Committee love to support local business and our youth.
23.01.2022 At my old school on Election Day with some of my crew! Born and bred and a heart for Midland! Vote Jo!... #jocicchiniliberal4midland
23.01.2022 Thank you to everyone for voting. Thank you to my volunteers, family, friends and members of the public, for all of your support and encouragement! I gave it my best shot and it was a fantastic experience, that I now have under my belt.... Who knows what the future may bring? Thank you
23.01.2022 A fabulous morning at Woodbridge Riverside Park Run this morning. Everyone was very happy to get out for their first run in months, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Was great to see my gorgeous friend Rachel and catching up with other friends as well, including a married couple who I went to school with over 30 years ago! Even our old school teacher is still running! ... It’s been a while since I’ve run 5km weekly, but with all this walking, you never know, I may take it up again! A great start to the day! #jocicchiniliberal4midland
22.01.2022 Congratulations and Happy 25th Birthday to Midland Women's Health Care Place! Today, Midland Women's Health Care Place celebrates 25 years of providing support and an inclusive, welcoming, safe space for women in the East Metro Region of Perth. Well done to everyone involved in this wonderful organisation, to be able to give the women of Midland and surrounds, the support that they need in their different stages of life.... Well done ladies! We are proud of you!
22.01.2022 Well, my birthday is coming up on Friday the 13th this year and my lucky number has come in! Hopefully it’s lucky again on Election Day - 13th March! Thanks so much to Swan Districts Gymnastics and Helena College for my gorgeous hamper!
22.01.2022 Thank you to the people in our community who came down to have their say last night at my Law & Order Forum. I have doorknocked homes and businesses and have heard first hand about meth labs, serious assaults, street drinking, theft, fire, hooning, blatant drug deals and the Judiciary being too soft on crime. We know Midland is not all bad and it's a small percentage, but enough to cause people undeserved consequences in the community. ... I hear you, I understand it and I want to bring street wise, commonsense to the table in Parliament, if given the opportunity. Special thanks to Peter Katsambanis - Liberal Member for Hillarys, who has a legal background and a tough love approach to these matters and George Tilbury - Liberal for Forrestfield, who is a Police Officer and former President of the Police Union, who will bring a wealth of experience to Parliament, if elected. As Police Union President, George had asked the Labor Government for 1000 more Police back in 2017. We have not had enough Police and many were pulled off the street to deal with Covid regulations. We have seen evidence of this when Ellenbrook Police were called in more than once, to help handle Northbridge. Thank you to all those who attended and gave me your written responses through email. #jocicchiniliberal4midland
21.01.2022 A fantastic afternoon letterboxing my home town! It was great to be out with a fantastic crew and walking around the streets of Midland and surrounds and reaching out to my community. I will be a strong voice for Midland, in which I love.... Go Midland!
21.01.2022 Movida and Stratton Residents urgently need a complete footpath along Farrall Road. It is a very busy street and the lack of footpaths are making it so dangerous for residents to get to the Stratton shops or Middle Swan Primary School. People with gophers and prams are having to go around obstacles and onto the road and we fear that someone is going to be hit by a car.... Residents need this safe access now.
21.01.2022 We need a better car park at the top of Morrison & Pechey Road Swan View. Currently the car park is unfit for purpose and is causing significant traffic and safety issues along Pechey Road. Please sign my petition today to call on the State & Local Govt to fix this issue, for the benefit of our residents and tourists into our John Forrest National Park.... https://www.petition.org.au/john-forrest-car-park/
20.01.2022 Thank you so much to the 110 people who have already signed our online petition for a safe footpath on Farrall Road Midvale. You are all awesome. Keep em coming! https://www.petition.org.au/farrall-footpath/
19.01.2022 After attending the Stratton Community Association Inc AGM last month and doorknocking the Movida housing estate, it is very clear that the residents need safe pedestrian access to the Stratton shops and Middle Swan Primary School. Please sign the online petition and circulate far and wide to make your voices heard and get this footpath built as soon as possible, before there is a serious accident. https://www.petition.org.au/farrall-footpath/
19.01.2022 Welcoming our newest Australian Citizens at the City of Swan Citizenship Ceremony at the Midland Town Hall this evening. Congratulations to you all. Welcome to this fantastic community and wishing you every opportunity to prosper! #jocicchiniliberal4midland
19.01.2022 I've been fighting to keep Robinson Road open and have helped to raise awareness on the issue to thousands of people over the past 6 months. An elected Liberal Government, will commit to a proper community consultation to ensure that the voices of local business and residents are heard, so a fair decision can be made. Unlike Labor, who just determine what is happening without consulting the community. ... I am listening and will fight for what's best for Midland! #jocicchiniliberal4midland
17.01.2022 Up bright and early for the Midland Traino this morning. Some great chats! #jocicchiniliberal4midland
17.01.2022 Im out and about in beautiful, sunny Guildford today! Ive been speaking with small business owners, with an array of opinions and feedback during these times. Please support your local, West Australian businesses. They are what keep us going. ... #supportlocalbusiness #australianmade #jocicchiniliberal4midland
16.01.2022 Shadow Minister for Tourism and Small Business Alyssa Hayden has launched a petition urging the McGowan Labor Government to provide grants to small businesses during the COVID-19 crisis. Western Australia is the only state in Australia that does not have a small business grant program of up to $10,000 to help struggling small and family run businesses who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. With record unemployment in Western Australia and a close second worst rate... in the country, at 8.7 per cent, the McGowan Labor Government needs to look at grants and initiatives being provided in other States, which are successfully keeping more businesses open and people in jobs. To sign the petition visit https://www.petition.org.au/support-wa-business/
16.01.2022 It's been a while since I've been on a bike! A bit of fun with the guys down at Honda Midland. Eddie has owned this business for 42 years and loves working in Midland. It is a great location, being close to the Agricultural region, helping farmers and city slickers for their work and recreational needs.... It has been great to see a business thrive during Covid and even more employment being offered there. Well done guys!
16.01.2022 My daughter Lauren turns sweet 16 today! Mums been shopping til she drops in Midland this week! Shes a very spoilt girl. Happy Birthday Lolly
16.01.2022 A fantastic afternoon doorknocking beautiful Jane Brook! What a small world it is, running into some friends and also mutual friends, even as far as Geraldton! Today I listened to your issues, which were wanting to see the new section of Jane Brook developed, as this has caused some serious flooding and dust issues on neighbouring properties. ... Residents would also like to see some more Slow Down for Ducks signs for our precious ducks in the area and also to slow down and wanting better visibility on Jane Brook Drive, where they are blind bends, making it very hard for residents to back out of their driveways. I will write to the City of Swan on these issues. If I missed you today, please reach out via the contact details I have left for you or contact me here through Facebook. I will be back in Jane Brook again soon. Happy Sunday everyone :)
15.01.2022 A fantastic fundraiser for such a worthy cause for the Parkerville Children’s Home. They have been doing amazing work for many years. My own grandmother and her brother and sister stayed there for a while in the early 1930’s! Here with Amanda Paton, Director of Therapeutic Services. Well done to all involved. You do an amazing job!... Thank you to Nick Goiran Shadow Minister for Child Protection for the invitation, along with Sean L'Estrange, Shadow Minister for Corrective Services and Libby Mettam.
15.01.2022 Centrepoint Pizza Midland - still the number 1 favourite for pizza in Midland! I remember going across the road after a night out at the Junction Hotel for a midnight feed and a game of Space Invaders! I also fondly remember my personal pizza delivery guy, Paul Spanjich, who sadly is no longer with us. ... Still know the phone number off by heart too - 9274 2375! Thank you to Centrepoint Pizza for supporting a born and bred Midland girl. Support local business and local jobs, by ordering a Centrepoint Pizza again soon! Thanks guys
15.01.2022 Many thanks to the Midland Junction Collective for organising Tour de Midland progressive dinner tonight at 3 fantastic places -Bolt Coffee Roasters, Basilico and Syd & Phyllis. Fantastic idea, very popular and the food divine! Can’t wait for the next one. Well done guys!
15.01.2022 I met Phil at a Swan Chamber of Commerce event last month and by networking, I was able to take him to Parliament House to speak to the Shadow Minister of New Industries about 3D printing of recyclable materials for PPE gear. Very exciting ideas Phil has, including printing motorcycle and car parts. We need Australian manufacturing, instead of wait times from overseas companies.... #Australianmade
15.01.2022 Great day in the office today chatting with my clients in between campaigning! I know first hand how important small business and local jobs are to our community. As part of the Liberal's Local Jobs Guarantee, if elected, we will commit $200 million to boost the number of apprentices and trainees in WA by 20,000. This is fantastic for our local businesses. ... Additionally, only a Harvey Liberal Government will deliver the $1,000 Apprenticeship Kickstarter to enable new apprentices to buy the equipment they need to get started in work. Learn more https://www.waliberal.org.au//200-million-commitment-to-b/

13.01.2022 How good is this? Found a picture of our old house in Mathoura Street Midland on the wall at Midland Gate Shopping Centre. Our house was built in 1925 and we were even friends with a man named Colin who was born in that house!... Amazing history and a beautiful home built to last! We are so blessed to have historical buildings in Midland.
13.01.2022 Had an absolutely fabulous night at the reopening of the General Sikorski Polish Club. Theres a party here all weekend! This little gem is a hidden secret in my hometown of Bellevue. ... Fantastic for events up to 500 people and fabulous meals for as little as $15! Thank you Vlodek and Beata for your hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Come and check it out!
13.01.2022 I attended the Homelessness Crisis Forum at the Midland Town Hall last week with the Hon Ken Wyatt, Minister for Indigenous Australians. Sadly Midland has the highest homelessness rate. Higher than Fremantle and Perth City. Thank you to all the service providers who work hard everyday to try and help people find a stable and permanent home. ... I am determined to work with Federal and State politicians on this serious matter.
13.01.2022 Thank you to Donna Faragher MLC for spending some of her Saturday to discuss local issues and assistance for community groups in the Midland area.
12.01.2022 An absolute cracker of a day at Crooked Spire Coffee House for the Mayor’s Breakfast, with fantastic Guest Speakers, including the Hon Ken Wyatt, City of Swan Mayor, Kevin Bailey, Professor Cheryl Kickett-Tucker, Professor Gary Martin, Kevin Brown CEO Perth Airport and Dr Con Berbatis. Then an afternoon with Ken and Cheryl again about all the amazing work and future vision for Koya Aboriginal Corporation KKnH. So many people with a drive to have a great community, what we have learned from Covid and what to be grateful for.

Many thanks to the General Sikorski Polish Club for putting on such a great meal and hospitality for us. Thank you to all my supporters. I really appreciate you all. ... I will keep working hard and bring new energy for our local community. #jocicchiniliberal4midland
12.01.2022 The construction of railcars for METRONET has been awarded to Alstom, a French multinational. As a result, a local WA business that has built tens of thousands of railcar seats for WA trains has been locked out of the contract by this French company. Another METRONET contract awarded to a UK based company. I will continue to be a voice to promote Australian made manufacturing and support WA local business.... Find out more https://www.waliberal.org.au/.../the-local-jobs-guarantee/
12.01.2022 I highly recommend gymnastics. I was a gymnast myself at the Midland Police & Citizens Club in Midland from the age of 4-14 years of age and was totally engaged in it. My son has also followed suit! This is an an amazing sport to keep our youth engaged and physically and mentally healthy and strong. Swan Districts Gymnastics is hosting a tryout day on Sunday the 9th August at 10am on Elgee Road Midland.... Bring the kids and come on down! Its an amazing sport! :)
11.01.2022 What better way to launch my Liberal personalised t-shirts, than on the catwalk with my beautiful daughter modelling them for me! If you want to strut your stuff around Midland in one of these, let me know and Ill give you one. Jo Cicchini for Midland!!
11.01.2022 Congratulations to my son Dan, on purchasing his very first home in the Midland electorate! We are so proud of you! Special thanks to Westpac Midland for helping my son achieve his dreams!... Dan also just recently became a qualified Automotive Spray Painter and has finished his apprenticeship. Dan is a 3rd generation in the industry. My grandfather Maurice Tate and my brother were also Panel Beaters. We now have 3 tradies in the family! Two more kids to go! The world is your oyster son! Go for it!
11.01.2022 Last week I visited Milestones Early Learning Middle Swan with Ken Wyatt MP for Early Learning Matters Week. Daycare played a massive part in my life when I was a single mum and in the middle of my hairdressing apprenticeship. I had to put my 1 year old son in daycare full time after 12 months maternity leave, which was the hardest thing to do in my life, but it enabled me to become a qualified tradesperson and buy my very first home on my own.... I am so grateful to these childcare services, who support all family dynamics. It was a pleasure to meet Kayla and her team and I can see that they are doing amazing work for our families in the Midland area. Thank you Milestones :)
10.01.2022 What comes after COVID-19? WA needs a plan beyond the pandemic that creates thousands of jobs now, into the future and secures our economy for decades. Zak Kirkup and the Liberals ambitious New Energy Jobs Plan will create thousands of jobs, bring back manufacturing to WA and diversify our economy.... This will be the largest renewable energy project in Australia’s history building wind, solar, gas and battery storage projects to power WA jobs into the future. It's all about bringing manufacturing back to WA, so we can build more with our WA resources and create jobs for now and the future. It will open up new markets, exporting clean, safe hydrogen to trading partners like Japan and Korea, and power a new green steel industry. It's a vision that is in our Liberal DNA, a nation-building project that will create jobs and prosperity for Western Australia, just like Sir Charles' vision for the North West Shelf. This project will enable the State Government to achieve zero emissions. To be perfectly clear this will not impact the private sector. This is only about the State Government’s emissions and leading by example. Our plan will support business transition to green exports and clean energy operations if they choose and it makes sense to their own business. This is a game changer project that is all about creating thousands of new jobs and is part of the Liberals plan for 200,000 new jobs in WA. The Liberals New Energy Jobs Plan will take WA forward, together. Learn more: https://www.waliberal.org.au/.../liberals-visionary-plan.../ #jocicchiniliberal4midland

Having grown up, schooled and a very long family history of working hard here, I relate to all walks of life. ... He even calls me son. Thanks Flinty
08.01.2022 Matt has been a small business owner in Swan View and Helena Valley for years and always has a smile on his face. Thanks Matt, for providing our local community with fresh produce and excellent service and thank you also for your support! ... #supportlocalbusiness #helenavalleyfresh

07.01.2022 I spent the morning and afternoon door knocking in Swan View & Greenmount today. There is lots of support from the residents for a completed car park on Pechey Rd. 07.01.2022 What a fantastic morning at the Crooked Spire Coffee House, talking to local residents and businesses about the key features of the 2020-21 Federal Budget. In Hasluck: - Around 71,500 taxpayers will benefit from tax relief of up to $2,745 this year; - More than 16,000 businesses will be able to write off the full value of any eligible asset they purchase;... - 4,600 businesses are being supported by our JobKeeper payment; - Our Cashflow Boost is helping 3,500 local small to medium businesses stay afloat; and - Over 9,000 locals received the Coronavirus supplement, providing additional support through the crisis. The Morrison Government's Economic Recovery Plan for Australia will create jobs, rebuild our economy and secure our future, including here in Hasluck. Ken Wyatt #jocicchiniliberal4midland

It is wonderful to see all age groups and people enjoying nature at the same time.... Banksia Community, you have my introductory brochure and I’ll be coming to meet you soon. Have a fabulous long weekend everyone.

06.01.2022 5 hours door knocking and I was blessed not to get the rain. This is actually the best part of the job. I LOVE meeting people! As a hairdresser, I can strike up a conversation with people easily. I have thoroughly enjoyed talking to people in the neighbourhood.... We talked about safe pedestian access along Farrall Rd, how to get Shire approval for home hair salons, pregnancy, unfortunately a spate of home burglaries, job keeper, mental health, drugs, homelessness, looking after elderly parents, disability equipment - you name it! I am LOVING this gig! Want to have a chat about something on your mind? You can email or call me anytime on [email protected] or 0404 589 586. Looking forward to many more conversations and listening to what's important to you and your family. #jocicchiniliberal4midland
06.01.2022 I was honoured to be able to speak at Dads Day at Stirling Square Guildford. Well done to Alan Pond of Pondy's Gym who organises this special day for the 3rd year running. We have both been through Family Court and the Child Support Agency and were able to speak from the heart, with lived experience and want to go on to help others.... I had the best conversations with men and women today and encourage them all to keep going. The difficult times WILL pass. Thanks Al. A really awesome day. Proud of you! #jocicchiniliberal4midland
06.01.2022 Thoroughly enjoyed my first Politics in the Pub last Friday at the The Woodbridge Hotel Guildford. Many thanks to the publican, Tom for hosting us! It was great that constituents took the time out of their day to come and speak to me about the issues that are important to them. Some even got there before we started and were waiting for me! Much appreciated.... Stay tuned for the next one!
06.01.2022 The Morrison Liberal Governments commitment to a skilled economy for Australias economic recovery has never been stronger. The jobs and skills needed as we come out of the current crisis arent likely to be the same as the those that were lost. We need to ensure that Australians have the chance to reskill or upskill to be ready to fill the jobs that will become available as we recover from lockdown.... The package announced today will provide significant support to creating over 35,000 training positions in in-demand areas in Western Australia and it will help many West Australians, who do not have access to work in the short-term, to engage in training or study until jobs become available. 05.01.2022 It was great to attend the Midland and Districts Historical Societys AGM yesterday afternoon. It is fabulous to see people so passionate about Midland and its history. 05.01.2022 An awesome day for door knocking. Beautiful country. Remembering my babysitting days here and Rocky Pool! Some residents have been here as long as 40 years!... My community is very important to me and hearing the issues. A great day!
05.01.2022 Keep Robinson Road Open! Listen to the people and whose livelihoods this is going to effect. We have nearly 200 signatures on my petition already and the Bellevue Residents and Ratepayers Association are doing a fabulous job in getting their submission in to the Labor Govt.... 04.01.2022 Well, that's a wrap of 10 hour days at pre-poll for the last 2 and a half weeks! Today was a HUGE day, with over 2000 people voting. I think we had up to about 16 000 people coming through the doors over this period! Thank you to Tenjune Hair Studio for letting me have my signs up for weeks, taking my brochures and being in my "Happy 125th Birthday Midland" video and thank you to all the other surrounding hair salons for their support also!... Hairdressers can achieve big things! We are communicating with people ALL the time! A great skill to have! We are community people. Albert Di Lallo, our legendary Midland Barber, was once a mover and shaker in our town! Just one more day to go and the countdown is on! This has been a fabulous experience and I have discovered just how much I can achieve in one day! Thank you to all of my volunteers, who believe in me enough to help me over the last 8 months and their huge effort tomorrow, in trying to help me get over the finish line! It's a tough seat to win, although a couple of elections ago, it was on a knife's edge, at the loss of only 24 votes in the 2013 Election. COVID certainly has played havoc across the world politically also and there has never been an election quite like it. I'm asking you to look at your local candidates - Mark McGowan's name will not be on your ballot paper, but my name will be! Vote for someone who is passionate about Midland, that has the energy that Midland needs. It's time for a change in Midland! Vote Jo! #jocicchiniliberal4midland
04.01.2022 There are now 66 signatures out of our first target of 100. This is a dangerous situation and needs to be addressed now. The more voices on this issue, the better.... Please sign the petition today.

03.01.2022 Today is World Youth Skills Day and what better skill than to learn to drive a car! Miss L passed her Learners Test in Midland today and will be learning to drive a good old manual. A very important asset for wider opportunities in work and education.... Congratulations young lady!
03.01.2022 My highest motivation for wanting to be a fresh voice for Midland, is our youth. Kids are our future and we need to give them the best opportunities from a young age. With 481 kids in care and the highest homelessness rate in Midland, we need new and commonsense ideas brought to the table.... I will be a strong voice for our youth in our community with Ken Wyatt and Swan City Youth Service.

If you love Midland and its History, head over to their page to join!
01.01.2022 Up bright and early for the Midland Farmers Markets this morning. Absolutely brilliant day and having great chats with people in the local area and surrounds. Great to see hard working people get up early every Sunday to offer great produce!... #jocicchiniliberal4midland
01.01.2022 Very grateful for a warm welcome and meeting with the CEO and Mayor of the City of Swan. From walking many kms doorknocking, I take your local issues to Local and State Government. These include homelessness, hooning, lighting and signage, tourism, Midland History, roads, dogs, markets, National Parks, businesses, crime. ... I’ll work hard to do the best I can to get satisfactory outcomes for our community. #jocicchiniliberal4midland
