05.01.2022 I’m always so thankful for working alongside and supporting local talent, working women and their craft. @theplantstylist_ is one of many local Sole Traders, like myself, that has talent and creativity oozing from her pores and continually brightens my clinic with her exquisite taste in flowers. Being a Sole Trader/Business Owner/Skin and Dermal Therapist plus Working Mum is not without its complications and struggles. Especially with no extended family here to support, nou...rish and nurture. It comes with long, endless hours, week after week with no days off, trying to see and fit in every client that needs your help, guidance and advice. Struggling to say no. Scheduling and rescheduling appointments, working on tax returns, BAS statements, invoicing, accounts, orders, enquiries late into the night. Often missing out on school events, not knowing how to manage school holidays and kids being sick, having no food in the house, not being able to run errands, losing friendships, adopting zero self care and trying to maintain health and well-being when your permanently exhausted and your diary is full and your business is growing. As working mums who are their business and combine running, doing and being it 365 days of the week it is a combination of emotions. Challenging yet inspiring, exhilarating yet exhausting, terrifying yet rewarding, gratifying yet humbling and with hormones on top slightly crazy! I take my hat off to you all and know that you are not alone.
