We have to remember that children are not little adults and their brain development doesnt allow them to reason and rationalise like adults. Thinking about sharing our calm allows us to take a step back and manage our feelings so that we can help them manage theirs.

12.01.2022 We are losing men to suicide at an alarming rate. As well as the unhelpful messages men receive about expressing themselves, they often feel overwhelmed even thinking about talking. At Astoria Clinic, we have a special interest in mens mental health and understand that for some men, talking is new territory. Its really not as daunting as it seems and its a safe space where there is no judgement or expectations.

You dont need to do anything other than sit with that person - they arent expecting or needing you to do anything other than that. Just give their feelings space
