24.01.2022 We all have those patients......
23.01.2022 3 Ways for Staying Focused at Work If you don’t know this by now, our constant access to data is killing our productivity. Too many of us begin the day by picking up our phones and getting lost in a stream of notifications and information. Here are three things you can do to carve out more time for yourself and remain focused and effective at work: 1. Start your day right. When you wake up, don’t roll over and start checking email on your phone. Try a simple mindfulness pract...ice: Take a few deep breaths, make a mental list of the things you’re grateful for, or meditate for 2030 minutes. 2. Organise your day. Take advantage of your body’s natural rhythms. Focus on complex, creative tasks in the morning. Push meetings to the afternoon. 3.Tidy up. A clean work environment leads to a less cluttered mind. Put everything in a drawer. Create folders on your computer desktop to get rid of all the random files. On your phone, keep only the 812 most important apps on your home screen. Turn off all unnecessary notifications. ****************************************

20.01.2022 I know you know that sitting all day is not great for your body. You get stiff, sore and prone to headaches. These are a few easy stretches you can do at your desk. Hold the stretches for 10 to 15 deep breaths. Your body will thank you!

11.01.2022 I keep repeating this quote Change happens through movement and movement heals and it is so true. I have had to take two weeks off any exercise at all, and my body has been sore, stiff and aching. You would think I would be feeling the opposite but there you go. Pilates is my therapy and I feel a million times better today #PhysioLife #AlwaysMoving #Wellness #PilatesEveryDay #ReformerPilates #PilatesIsMyTherapy #ClinicalPilates #MoveThatBodyPeople
11.01.2022 Ask questions, listen and dig deeper. Get to know your patients and everything they do. Account for as much as possible. Teach them load management. Simplify, don’t complicate it. Be a detective.
11.01.2022 For soft tissue injuries, all you need is some PEACE and LOVE. One change to this would be A : Personally, I would generally recommend anti inflammatory medications and ice ice ice. But each to their own with this advice!
10.01.2022 Getting Older Doesn't Mean Getting Fragile! There seems to be a belief in society that as we age we have to become frail. This is't true. We see this challenged in many different kinds of studies examining those who stay active throughout life. Resistance training is incredible in increasing muscle mass. It is almost a fountain of youth in what it can provide. We have seen a lot of studies look into this and we almost always see benefit. Two recent studies that exemplify t...his are the LIFTMOR studies. These used proper resistance training programming (not typically done in studies) with senior individuals (men and women) and demonstrated improvement (or maintenance) of bone mineral density, increased muscle strength, reduced falls risk, and the safety of high intensity resistance training. This is where encouraging resistance training throughout the life span becomes so beneficial. If you know people who can benefit from seeing this, help to encourage them to stay active and strong. 09.01.2022 You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions. Give Pilates a go! It is my therapy!
07.01.2022 Every day is a good day to do Pilates. It is the complete coordination of body, mind and spirit. It is not just about great posture and a rock hard core. Pilates is more than physical exercise, and can radically enhance mental, emotional and spiritual well being.
07.01.2022 Remember that any exercise is better than no exercise. A 20 minute walk in the sunshine could do wonders for your mind and body
05.01.2022 Posture.... a controversial topic. Have a read of my thoughts.
01.01.2022 Be more than your clinical skills! Connection. Communication. Empathy.
