25.01.2022 HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY REPAIR CAFE PERTH Celebrating Repair Cafe Perth’s 2nd Birthday, proudly the first in WA & at home right here in the City of Vincent... The City of Vincent is proud to be the major sponsor of this wonderful community initiative where people can bring their broken items to be living repaired and save them from going to landfill. Congratulations to co-founders Elle and Angie and all the Volunteers - Repair Cafe Perth keeps growing from strength to strength with the North Perth Lesser Hall an action packed hive of activity today . Great to catch up again with Barry who I used to work with almost 30 years ago. The next Repair Cafe is on Saturday December 21 10am at North Perth Hall. #cityofvincent #repaircafe #repair #reuse #community #waronwaste #perth #happybirthday

13.01.2022 The City of Vincent embraced the town team model 6 years ago starting with the Beaufort Street Network and now supports 6 town teams in our 6 town centers across our small 11 square kilometre city. Government and community working together to build thriving, resilient and truly connected communities.... An essential part of the success is our local government accepting we not only don't have all the answers, but we don't have to: being there to support and assist our community with their ideas and solutions, letting the community take responsibility for change and knowing when to get out of the way. It's a difficult concept for many local governments to understand, let alone embrace, but I challenge you to watch the video below and not come away wanting to join or start a town team in your community. A shout-out to all my amazing friends and legends featured in the video - your passion and dedication to making your local community a better place is inspiring! love your work Jimmy Murphy John Carey Sally Smith, City of Vincent Councillor @MichaelQuirk Dale Alcock Len Kosova DavidSnyder @TownTeamMovement #localgovernment #community #townteams #cityofvincent

09.01.2022 HAPPY TAILS DOGGY DAYCARE It’s been 4 months since Council approved the Happy Tails Dog Day Care in West Perth, so Barnaby and I decided to pop in and see how co-owner Amanda Deurloo is going with Vincent’s first doggy day care. It’s definitely a 5 or 5 rating from Barnaby who was lavished with cake, cuddles and goodies.... Located within an old office warehouse on Douglas Street, West Perth, there’s lots of space for dogs to play and socialise in a fun, safe and loving environment - more than 460 square metres over 2 levels including a huge activity area with ball pit, tents, tunnels, toys, and little couch beds. We love our dogs in the City of Vincent, so it fabulous to see Amanda’s business has grown quickly in just 7 weeks from 6 dogs to well over 40 dogs now. Help support our local small business and check out Happy Tails Doggy Daycare the next time you need your furbaby looked after. #dogdaycare #cityofvincent #smallbusiness #suportlocal #perth #dogsofperth #perthdogs
